17.67 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.3 block shots a game. Sounds like an All-star? That is Hakeem's last 3 game stats. If he could hold that pace, we would be unstopable. I think we just aquired a new player. A happy Dream is better than any free agent we could pick up at this point in the year. Long live the Dream!

If Dream can average 18,10,3 the rest of the way, we are unstoppable.

    10, 20, 30 wins in a row?

    GO ROCKETS!

I would like to see some of the league's crappiest player's best 3 games in a row.

Dogbelly, are you saying Hakeem is a crappy player in the NBA? Look up some crappy player's stats. They might have one good game every now and then. But three good games is the start of a good trend I would like to think. Not to mention most crappy players would be exstatic with Hakeem's 10.5pts, 6.5 rbds., 1.5 blks. stats.

I'd argue with the 18 points....I'd be happy with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 2steals, 25min/game......That would take us into the playoffs...

I hope he does! We will have so many offensive weapons, we will be unstoppable. We can post-up or we can beat the opposing player to the rim for an easy shot. Now that Olajuwon is healthy again, we will definetly make the playoffs. I believe through his experience he can get us far in the playoffs. Remember, the Houston Rockets has won a championship while being a sixth seed playoff team and they nearly beat the Jazz while being an eight seed playoff team with a regular season record of 41 wins and 41 losses. I thought the Rockets would have beat the Jazz 3-1 in that series, but when Antoine Carr elbowed Charles Barkley we just could not win any more games. The Utah Jazz had to injure one of our best players to win that series!

I think some people on this board are getting a little too optimistic.

We won a couple games, dream played well thats GREAT! and i love it, but in no way are we a lock for the playoffs simply because the teams in front of us(Suns, Wolves, Mavs, Jazz, etc...)are just a little more talented than we are.

Sure if dream continues to play this way, shandon picks it up a bit, and cato comes back and gives dream some rest, we will have a good chance at the playoffs.

But we are in no way a lock.

That's an awesome way of looking at it, hedster. We may have acquired a very good frontline player and lost nothing. Nice post. [IMG]

I think you're being a bit optimistic. Hakeem has put up awesome numbers the last three games, but what are the chances that he continues his play the rest of the season? Although I hate to say it, I think that Dream will probably go back to the Hakeem of early this season, 10 pts and 7 reb. You have to remember that Dream is 38 years old and he cannot play like he has been on a consistent basis.

I think Dream could still average 20-10, if he got more touches.

The only thing stopping Dream early this year was his attitude, once he squared that away, and Francis took the role as leader, it liberated him, and he has some fire again.

It is nice to see....maybe the stress of carrying this team on his back all those years finally got to him.

The torch has been passed, and Dream is happy again....

    Go Rockets.

Stats from 3 games is not long enough to draw conclusions. But he sure did look great. The 2nd half will be interesting.

Those box scores make me feel nostalgic [IMG]. Seriously, my hopes for the playoffs were fading... Hakeem's reinvigorated them!

It would be terrific if we can go on a 10, 20 or 30 game winning streak!

I don't think that Phoenix is going to make it. They are less talented than the Rockets, in my opinion. I think it will come down to Houston, Seattle, and Denver for the final spot. Earlier on, I expected Minessota to miss the playoffs, but they have stunningly won 11 in a row, ending that possibility.

Hakeem will NOT continue at his current pace. BUT, he ill continue to play the same great interior D, block shots, intimidate, rebound, and get steals. But he wo't score as much. Don't get ur expectations too high, cause he's bound to slow down, even if it's just a little bit.

You all are probably right about him slowing down, but DAMNNNN if he could continue to play like this it would be awesome. The Rockets would be unbeatable with 4 big scorers who are each capable of taking over a game late. Lets hope Hakeem continues playing at his rabid pace.

I bet if we had asked you about 4 weeks ago if Hakeem could play like he has at all, you would have said "no". There's nothing to say that he can't continue averaging very good numbers (14 pts, 8 rebs, 2 blocks, ? intimidations in the paint) for the rest of the season. Until he doesn't, you can't say he can't. I can say he will because he has for 3 games.

    GO HAKEEM!

Phoenix has a pretty tough draw from the All-star break to the end of the season.
Denver goes on the road a fair bit in the next few weeks.
Houston has a pretty easy draw until the end of Feb.

Hakeem has been playing GREAT ball, if that keeps up then we might have made up most of the difference by the end of Feb and be right there for the 8th spot.
