Yes not fair on the surface. Though Murray also adds 7 assists with it. With more decent games between the duds. Murray's career low shooting as the starter beats Green's career high shooting. More important, Murray plays well with his slow euro offensive center. Doesnt need "remove Jokic" lane opening to produce (against bad teams)
I want all those "no mid-range shots please" theorists to look at this game and tell me with a straight face Murray should've not shot those mid-range shots but rather go for threes. And that they still would've won. God I love it when a team is just mixing it up and it leads to a win, since it's happening over and over. I get it, 3pt shot statistically better than mid or long range 2pt shot, but this game just shows you to get into a rhythm a closer shot can get your confidence up and you can win a game instead of just chucking. If the Rockets had done more of this in 2018, guaranteed we beat the Warriors. Harden had that mid-range game, but for the sake of MDA & Morey's game plan went away from it. Still biggest mistake we ever made.
If Murray doesnt get hurt 2021, Nuggets might have already squeezed out another title in '21 OR '22, to possibly have Jokic going for a 3rd. Doesnt matter if Murray is a 3rd rate "Robin", its not much coincidence that Murray returning back healthy in '23 helped them kick the title door down.
literally zero people think you should shoot 3’s if you can’t shoot 3’s well. Stop fighting an imaginary argument that nobody is making to make yourself feel better.
Midrange is important when it becomes a Possession vs Possesion game late to ice the game. Over the course of 40-45 minutes, 3 pointers & free throws inflate the points per shot. But in the last 5-10 possessions in close game, a 35% three is lower probability than a 40% midrange. If the D is conceding the midrange, it can open up to a 45-50% shot. Over a forced divebomb drive to the paint, hoping for a playoffs ref whistle leaving it to chance (Its part why Derozan is always a leading 4th quarter clutch scorer)
If Harden couldn't win how is he going to? They play exactly the same and his defense is worse. Peak harden is better than this Luka.
Porter 14th pick Gordon 7th Pick Murray 4th pick Let's not demean them to Big Up Jocic I get Praising the Mid Range BUT How many can shoot the MidRange like Murray I'm actually surprised at how many NBA Players would be like <35 % from MidRange Honestly from about 10 Ft and beyond . .. their percentage is consistent - so why not take the 3 instead Rocket River
Precisely. Top 5 Player of Alltime An All Star type Player Top 45-60 Player Another Top 50 Player with even more upside A good role player in KPC who is a very good defender and shooter. Top 5 or 6 Coach in Malone Some good bench pieces. Altitude. The Rockets might just need shooters, Jokic level of guard to be there.
Playing in Denver helps Jocic alot. If he was not in Denver . .. the weight he carries would be so much worse It legit helps his conditioning. . . .I think Luka could be helped playing in Denver half the year (or those oxygen deprivation masks or something) Rocket River
Can’t believe it was 74-55 somewhere in the 3rd quarter with Lakers up by almost 20. Lakers fumbled the D big time and then just couldn’t score. You could see Lebron put it all out on the floor. 39 years old. Would have been a great story if they won the game, tho.
It looks really bad for the Lakers but this series is NOT over. They are down 0-2 and the longer the series stretches on, the more favorable to the Nuggets. Nuggets have decided coaching and team chemistry advantages. etc, etc. I really don't think the Nuggets will sweep them this year.
Probably an overreaction but it sorta feels like Murray finished off LeBron's career with that shot and everything else is just epilogue
