Didn't Yugoslavia precede Serbia and Montenegro?

Yugoslavia was like the big ol country before it dismember in the early 90s?

 

Yup, Serbia, Montenegro (I think they are 2 different countries now) and Slovenia are all part of Yugoslavia before.

 

Serbia/Montenegro, now just Serbia, used to still call itself Yugoslavia for a while after the union ceased to exist, up until 2000 or so.

 

Let's just refer to them as the John Cougar Mellencamps of Europe
