So I found this new traffic app for Android and iPhone (and beta for Blackberry). It is free, GPS based and collects data to help you find the best route to your destination base don other users. Check out the video. The more people that use it, the better it will work. http://www.waze.com/homepage/ I have no affiliation with this product. Just thought it was cool and better than spending money on GPS with live traffic.
Cool - Up to this I have been underwhelmed by the accuracy of the traffic apps. This seems like it might be a battery drain though, having to keep the app open throughout.
