    Personal opinion

    Offense

The Heat is not going to have an inside presence outside of Bosh. So the key is to pound it inside. Wade and Lebron are both very good perimeter defenders, so having a top wing player don't really do much to that team. But Yao, Howard, and Gasol/Bynum combo should all eat up the Miami interior.

Teams that can do this: Orlando, Houston, LA, (potentially) Milwaukee, San Antonio

    Defense

Clog the paint. Basically play a combo of JVG/Pop style of "beat us with the 3" defense, and the Jerry Sloan style of hacking the heck out of them. Daring refs to blow whistles. This requires that the team has respected defenders whom the refs will be kind to, and for the league to be more loose when it comes to touching perimeter players. It also requires an inside presence, incredible dedication to defense, and very disciplined players.

Teams that can do this: Orlando, LA, Boston, (potentially) Houston, San Antonio, David Stern

Any other thoughts? I don't think Miami's invincible. They will have chinks in their armor, at least for next season. Perhaps this gets taken care of later, but for now, I feel the above teams at least can play with them.

They are going to have 7 d-league players and 2 over the hill vets to fill out the team...

    I'm not scared.

I might as big a Laker hater as anybody, but their still the favorites and depending on who the Heat fill their roster with I think the Lakers beat them because of their size.

A lot of teams can beat Miami. I don't see what the fuss is about. I would have been far more worried if Lebron had gone to Chicago and the Heat had signed some superb role players.

Miami needs zone busters in the worst way. Every team in the league should pack in the paint with a 5 man zone.

could later add these potentially, in my opinion: Clippers (griffin), Portland (camby/oden if healthy/develops), grizzlies(gasol/randolph), Boston(frontline destroyed orlandos), and denver(nene is underrated, birdman, kmart)

I know it sounds crazy but since the warriors signed david lee they somewhat have a chance to at least keep it close imo. The heat likely won't be able to defend the 1 or the 5 very well and David lee can definitely pound the s*** out of bosh inside. They can also try and force the heat to play the running game something I believe lebron, wade and definitely bosh cannot do for an extended period of time.

I disagree, and the reason is because the Heat in general plays very good team defense. If it weren't for the fact that they have zero shooters and zero true inside big men, I'd say they're almost invincible in terms of production on both ends of the court.

That's pretty much what Lebron had during the playoffs when he was in Cleveland and they were not too shabby.

Surround the trio with shooters to space the floor and they are set on offense. This team needs shooters. A bunch of shooters who can make open shots.

The three by themselves will form one of the best trios defensively in the game. They just need to plug holes. Riley will fill those holes in two years or less.

This trio is better than the Celtics trio and the Celtics won the championship on the first go.

Orlando and maybe even Boston could beat them. Lakers can definitely beat them with their bigs.

The Celtics had role players... Posey, House, Big Baby... and Rondo.

I think they will be very good, but a full season of all three of them playing 40+ minutes a game won't cut it.

But, hey I don't care, they aren't in our conference. ;)

They're going to have to find 3pt shooters so I'm curious how playing zone would affect them.

CJ Watson is a good start amd you don't need a bunch of standstill shooters to break a zone. People who played ball on a higher level would know that.

it's easier to discuss this now because they have only 4 players. :) it's no rocket science. :)
