I would have loved to see Barkley win tonight but just seeing him getting out there and playing was enough for me. It brought tears to my eyes seeing him walk off the court for the final time. I would like to say thanks Chuck for all the memories and great playing you did not just for the city of Houston but for the entire NBA. I salute one of the greatest men to ever play the game and just would like to say Thank You, Charles Barkley. ------------------
Ditto. I don't care who says Barkley was being Sideshow Bob; I'm glad he came back and left on his own two feet. Sir Charles will be missed.
I hope or better yet I know you are being sarcastic. I worded that last message wrong though. I meant to ask does anybody else have any Barkley thoughts memories or anything like that. Sorry. ------------------
I care. That guy busted his ass for us.He was extremely entertaining, and a legend. I will miss him almost as much as Otis Thorpe. <g> ------------------
I also have to give all the respect to Charles, Chuck is my favorite player and the work he did to play in a farewell game is amazing. Barks entire career was incredible and his stats prove how he is the best power forward of all-time. ------------------ THE DEAN HAS WRITTEN
When in doubt, assume sarcasm, I did forget to add a though. One of my favorite things about Chuck was that no matter how down the Rockets were, if Barkley was on the court, I always believed that the Rockets could pull it through. I havent developed that confidence in any of the newblood YET. ------------------ I'm not a role model.
LardChild, One of the things I remember about Chuck was, no matter how far the Rockets were down, you could count on him jacking up a r****ded 3 point shot. I loved it when Rudy referred to Chuck's propensity to take inane 3's at the weirdest times. ------------------ <this space for rent>
He brought a lot of fire to the game with his never give up, go for it attitude. Also, he didn't hesitate to tell you exactly what was on his mind, without worrying about how it made him look. He's also a very smart man -- and usually knows what he's talking about. You don't find very many outspoken and honest people in professional sports. I also like how he is willing to poke fun at himself. Channel 2 had a clip this weekend that showed his true spirit. After a 'Charles Barkley Look Alike Contest', CB said, 'They always pick some ugly dude as the winner. I must not be as good looking as I think I am.' ------------------ Stay Cool...
