I've never been so thankful for our second unit! gogi/lee/bud/patterson/dalembert is a beast second unit compared to this crap show on TNT. It's too bad they became our starting five basically because wow boston and miami have the worst benches I've ever seen. I seriously thank morey for the bench mob he built us, if you feel otherwise please tune to TNT asap and watch the trainwreck 2 other GM's put on their benches.

I'd rather have Lebron, Wade, and Bosh.

Morey can do wonders when he needs to fill the roster with role players. He was brought in to bolster the cast around T-Mac and Yao and he did just that. What could have been.... *cries*

thats understandable but building a great bench is not that easy. Some teams have old vets fall in their laps for a chance at a title, but to go get gogi/lee for slim pickings then draft bud late shows that morey does see talent. Watch Ryan Hollins, E'twan moore and Avery Bradley play for a while and you'll thank morey more for his bench building capability. We can't help it that we don't ahve the infrastructure of fun night clubs, hot women, and a great city on the beach to draw in stars like Miami......but I'm just glad we have a great gm who can pick a bench, what would boston or Miami have minus the stars.....

Sad thing is, our bench is better than our starters. Come playoffs, teams trim down their rotations anyway.

Yeah, Morey's done a wonderful job finding those good rotation players. It's an art.

But, unless they start allowing unproven high school grads back in the draft, it seems unlikely to find a star with this method. Everyone knows who the stars are and they will pick them, early in the draft.

Just emphasizes more how much we need an All-Star in our starting line-up, to be a real contender.

The commentators were commenting on the commitment of the Celtics players. The Celtics were close to a major trade to rebuild the team. Very few teams have franchise players anymore, so I expect the Celtics to blow things up after this season.
I really hope the Rockets hold on to some of the players they have such as Parsons and Gogi.

Very true but for next season our bench will have to be revamp with Lee, Dragic, Camby, Scola, Parsons being the starters at the end of this season. Which of these players come off the bench next season?

2 superstars, 1 star + shallow bench = one of the best teams in the league.

no stars + pretty deep bench = lottery team.

    Which would you prefer?

    Prepare thine flame suit...

Celtics Big 3 won a ring a few seasons ago, are on the mix for another before the window closes.

Heat are one of the best teams in the league, and will more than likely make the finals again.

Morey has done well, but we need that superstar to compete.

what flame suit? Im happy for our second unit! That's all, getting lebron or bosh to come to you doesn't take skill it's take a beach full of hot women and an even hotter nightlife to go with a big ego like lebron.....durant would never bolt to miami.....what morey did to assemble a second unit which yes requires skill is extraordinary. Lee for junk, Dragic for an unhappy brooks, Dalembert a few days before tip off and budinger at mid second round....again watch the crap the heat and celtics threw on the floor and that they call a bench.

The reality is fellas, young, urban star athletes are going to want to be in the spotlight plain and simple, it's a cultural thing for them to SHINE. The recent STARS we've had Hakeem played college ball here and wasa FOREIGNER and Yao was a FOREIGNER......Clyde was from here.......Pippen was unhappy here, and TMAC signed with Orlando not us, so him ending up here wasn't his choice. There is no way if you were offered the same job in Houston vs LA,NYC, or Miami you choose Houston just because, that's the reality of the matter. I am damn glad we have morey bc without him assembling a bench we could easily have the crap I saw on tv tonight or worse the bobcats. I don't care who we draft, there are very few SUPERSTARS who don't have giant egos and the me me me attitude and the lure of endorsements and TV fame will take them to big markets.....name the biggest studs in the NBA outside of a good guy like durant that wouldn't bolt for a big market in a heartbeat? Do not say Rose bc he's from Chicago, hell even hometown means nothing to some of these new age me-stars like LeBron.....location,women,fun trump the city bc a max deal is a max deal.....you could also throw in the BS lingo that shoe companies are putting in their deals abt what markets stars should go to and you guys will start understanding that NO STAR will willingly come here unless he grew up here and even then, Nike will probably want him in NYC or LA or MIAMI to land a $260M deal like Rose

you are just rambling dude. you knowledge of Rockets history is basically wrong.

What about Charles Barkley? Ralph Sampson? Moses Malone?
Why was Pippen unhappy here? was it because of Houston? so that's why he went to PORTLAND?

What about Dallas and San Antonio? Why in the world are people playing there?

So it's a cultural thing right? Are you even from Houston?

But go ahead, feel good about our bench when you watch teams who are contenders play their scrubs.
