Watch this guy close. He is a super undrafted player that can play both guard spots and the small forward spot. He is a free agent this summer and the Mavs can not out bid anyone for him. I say go after this guy hard.

I agree crash, and the Mavs also have another quality role player the Rockets should consider in Josh Howard.

Howard is an underrated player in my book. Put him on the right team and he will be even better.

I would love to have Josh Howard but he will still be under contract for a few more years.

yes he looked great out there. solid decision making and dominates smaller guards.

although... maybe all the options he has to pass to just makes him look better?

I live in Dallas, but HAIL FROM HOUSTON, TEXAS!!! Anyway, the consensus up I-45 is that Marquis Daniels, although SUPER talented, is lucky playing alongside Nash, Finley, Nowitzki, Walker, and Jamison. NOBODY EVER DOUBLE TEAMS MARQUIS DANIELS.

So while his .467 shooting looks REALLY good compared to Steve Francis' shootin, the key to remember here is that NOBODY GUARDS MARQUIS DANIELS.

With that said, I'd still like to get him, but I'd like to have Stephen Jackson in for a workout, too.

    see? that's what i think.

although i'm not huge on S. Jackson. Something about his game bothers me. Oh volume shooter... I don't like that.

He is a player. He has natural talent and great basketball instinct to be a really good player.

Radio talk in Dallas already said Mavs are going to match any offer up to MLE to him.

It would be nice to have him here but you might wonder how he would fit into Rockets system.

We need to focus on get a real star to play with Yao since he cannot carry the team night in and night out yet.

He would look nice in a Rocks Uni....I wonder if we can offer more than the MLE....weaken the Mavs, strengthen the Rocks.

Sign me up, the kid looks pretty good. Don't know how much he'll ask for and how much the Rockets would spend, but he would be a nice roll player.

I like the defense. The play where he had the steal and the fullcourt layup was nice. And the lazy sleepy eyes all T-Mac style.

He's worth at least most of the MLE but I have a vision of him getting Stephen Jackson money and jacking shots in Utah or someplace worthless like that.

Why we always fall in love with the player of the team we just played? Don't you think he would been well known by know if he is really good? Most players in this league are capable of playing a couple great games once a while.

I'd normally agree but in this case with an undrafted rookie doing the things he does... he looks solid. Who knows if he'll keep improving but most rookies do so I'd say it's a safe bet. He strikes me as a very well-kept secret.

Seems like your prototypical overachiever, soon to be overpaid NBA player.

I rather spend our MLE on something we need such as a power forward, point guard and backup. We are already clogged up at the 2 and 3 spot so we would have to unload some players. From what ive seen from boki these last two games i hope he gets some playing time in the playoffs to raise his confidence. Its amazing what can come from gaining confidence in the playoffs, look at Zach Randolph and Jason Schmidt(for you baseball fans).

He has averaged about 27 points the last couple of weeks, and 20 points for the last month.

We do not need him to average 20 points, just play D and fit in with Yao, and protect the ball....

Dallas has an embarrassment of riches at the 2-3 spots, with both rookies, Howard and Daniels, looking good and Finley already entrenched (+ Jamison playing a backup 3).

Nelson loves both rooks because of their total games, and their willingness to play defense and rebound. Gotta believe they will ultimately move someone to get a Ben Wallace type.

And BTW, I would love to see Daniels in a Rocket uniform......he's developing into a quiet, tough assassin.
