Everybody Hates Chris: Everybody Hates The Pilot UPN 21 min 2 sec - Sep 23, 2005 Inspired by his childhood experiences, comedian Chris Rock narrates the hilarious, touching story of a teenager growing up as the eldest of three children in Brooklyn, New York, during the early 1980's. Uprooted to a new neighborhood and bused into a predominantly white middle school two hours away by his strict, hard-working parents, Chris (Tyler James Williams) struggles to find his place while keeping his siblings in line at home and surmounting the challenges of junior high. This responsible resilient adolescent brings a distinct, funny spin to his everyday trials and traumas in UPN's new single-camera comedy EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS. Thursdays on UPN (8pm EST/PST).
Never liked Chris Rock as far as his standup comedy is concerned, and he certainly has SUCKED big time in every single movie he's ever done.
I could never understand how Rock became so big. He was one of the worst cast member back in his SNL days.
Yeah, but comedy and acting don’t always go together.. just look at Jimmy Fallen, that guy cant tell a joke to save his life, but he comes across as funny on SNL.. It's all in the writing.. Chris was bad on SNL, but his standup is better than anyone else who ever did the show.. Eddie Murphy is the rare double threat good on stage and good on screen..
Chris Griffin: Where do you think you go when you die? Southern boy: I learned from church that if you're good you go to heaven but if you're bad, you go to a place where the dead believe they're still living and they pray for death but death won't come. Chris Griffin: UPN?
The show was all right. Seems like they are going for endearing more than comedy. Which is probably the right tactic because Chris Rock's comedy will be so watered down on network TV that it will be practically useless (much like his movie career BTW). Unfortunately this show will probably end up sinking due to it's acting. Everyone besides the mom was unimpressive, and even she was a bit over-the-top.
