I have no idea about the credibility of this information. It's in an attack editiorial, and it messes up the website name that it quotes (really: http://www.geostrategy-direct.com/, subscription required), but it's interesting nonetheless.

if true...i'm sure FB will have some elaborate explanation about this just further proves Obama is the 2nd coming.

meanwhile, it's pretty clear what this would consitute- again, if it were true, and could be confirmed. i suspect the latter is highly doubtful.

BS. No US President (with maybe one exception) would ever be so dumb as to give Al-Q a country again.

Wow, nice basso-esque job with your thread title, where you took an unfounded accusation from a fringe website and attributed it to a shameless Moonie publication that prints anything which wouldn't even print this.

I don't know about the story, but a truce with al qaeda seems pointless as one of there main focusses is to end our way of life.

    LOL: link cannot be displayed

Anyway I saw the editorial by tinfoil-hat wearing wingnut Gaffney the other day - and in the journalism business, I can tell you that "commentary" piece by a guest columnst that says a random website says this is not the same as saying the paper is reporting it.

Honestly the fact that the website is run by this paper's "ace" reporter, and they won't run the story, despite their history of printing rubbish, speaks volumes.

I guess I'm not too swift. What would it constitute?

Does this mean that Obama's hawkish rhetoric about the war in Afghanistan -- doubling troops there, making attacks into Pakistan -- was a rejection of terms of the alleged truce? I'm sure AQ wouldn't be too happy with, "sure we'll pull out... as soon as we've crushed all opposition there."
