"Washington Post’s MVP straw poll, which saw 91 of the 100 media members surveyed over the past two weeks put Harden atop their ballot. With eight second place votes and a lone third place vote, Harden had a final tally of 971 out of a possible 1,000 points and was the only player named on all 100 ballots ..... Harden should start preparing his victory speech."

Whoever has him at 3rd shouldn't be allowed to vote any longer.

I think that's actually a really fair ranking. I'd have KD over Steph for doing a lot more on defense and missing less games, otherwise this might be exactly how I'd rank the top 7.

Kyrie has the second most 1st place votes. I wonder sometimes if some of these voters get all their information from highlight videos and Pepsi Max commercials.

I've heard people like, Mike Wilbon for example, pushing Kyrie Irving to that number one spot.

But since making that statement Kyrie was forced to sit a handful of games due to injury and his Celtics were thrashed by the new look Cavs.

So much for that sentiment Wilbon. MVB!

it’s not close this year...let’s be real, Harden should be unanimous

Harden has run away with the award, his competition won’t be able to catch up

It should be Unanimous. The media voters who voted James Harden 2nd or 3rd. Skip Bayless, Max Kellerman, Michelle Beadle, Kristine Leahy, Chris Broussard. These people should be called out big time.

Media bias. Chris Paul should be in top 10.

Lol.... Westbrick has 76pts and no first place votes! How can you go from being THE reining MVP to being a sidenote? By being a bogus MVP to begin with!!!

It's an embarrassment. I think the league is so happy with all the scoring that it doesn't want to enforce stuff like that.

I like to believe everything happens for a reason and last year’s snub pushed Harden even further. I might have been a blessing in disguise :)

He has improved his defense, 3pt shooting, overall decision making, awareness and came to camp in shape. CP3 and the MVP snub definitely contributed to it in my humble opinion.
