Almost forgot to put this up. This game, although not much when you look at records, is important. The Redskin-Cowboy rivalry is huge and today is Thanksgiving, a big day for football. Like I hinted at last week, I don't really care much anymore about football, but I do want Dallas to beat the Redskins, instead of just improving. In fact, I almost want to tank the rest of the year, but I DEFINITLY don't want them to lose to WAS. Oh well, I really don't care. Just give me a good game. I need something to entertain me till my turkey is done. GO IMPROVEMENT! edit: WOO! Forgot Woody was signed. I really like his play.
Did anyone see the Jerry Jones/Jimmy Johnson bit? What a bunch of BS. You can tell those two still dont care for each other. lol
Is anyone else out there sick and tired of the fact that the NFL insists on 2 utterly sucky, crappy teams in Detroit and Dallas play on national TV every freaking Thanksgiving?? I watched a little of both games (more of the Dallas-Washington game), but my God, those games left something to be desired! Time to do away with tradition, NFL and get some other teams besides the Cowboys and Lions to play on Thanksgiving.
To tell you the truth, I don't even care if the Cowboys play on Thanksgiving, even though they're my favorite. I can understand why they let them play, but I could really care less if they play today or Sunday. Now as for Detroit, I have no idea why they get to play so many times. At least the Cowboys have that "America's Team" thing going. (not saying I like that name, I don't, but that's probably why they get so much TV time.) BTW, I see Chad is proving me wrong. I didn't like him at QB, but these last 2 games he has played well. Who knows? We may not have to use a high draft pick on a QB afterall....ok...maybe not that far.
rc, you're a good guy, but come on man, just cuz your team is doing badly shouldnt make you stop caring about football. be a real fan. happy thanksgiving
I didn't quit caring about football because of the Cowboys losing, I quit caring because basketball has started up. I like basketball like 10 times more than football. Before the NBA and my school's basketball started, football was the only good sport. Now, its not as popular with me. Yeah, the Cowboys struggling are apart of me losing interest, but it is nowhere near the top. Give that honor to Yao and the Rockets.
The reason Detroit plays every Thanksgiving, is because they started the tradition. They were the first pro team to play on Thanksgiving, I think it was against the Bears. Its all about tradition, and football on Thanksgiving is a big tradition we can thank the Lions for. Not that I want to watch the sucky Lions play but thats probably why they always play on Turkey day
Didn't know that. But I kind of figured that there HAD to be something like that to make Detroit a usual on Thanksgiving day. But like others expressed, I don't give a poo about tradition. Have ATL and NO play along with STL and PHI next year, or something like that. I don't really care if Detroit doesn't play or Dallas doesn't play. GO IMPROVEMENT!
I missed the interview! i've been waiting weeks to see it. But my parents invited guests for Thanksgiving and I was forced to miss the 4th Q of the Pats game and the 1st H of the Cowboys game! guess i'll watch part 2 on sunday, since i'll be back home by then again.
Um, did anyone else realize that the only reason it is Wash Vs Dal every year is the fact one is a cowboy while the other is an indian?
they've only faced each other 5 times on Thanksgiving. I think its more Detroit and Dallas always play on Thanksgiving. Their opponents vary from year to year.
The Lions and the Cowboys play on Thanksgiving every year because they did it from the start. The Lions were the first to play on Thanksgiving, because they literally were the only ones who would do it (Bears were shoved into it) The only other team (at obviously a later date) that would volunteer to play during Thanksgiving were the Cowboys. They have played every year since, through suckiness and glory. NOTE: The Dallas Cowboys own the Redskins.
