Was tonight the first time this year we had an almost all defense team on the floor?

Lowry, Lee, Battier, Jeffries, and Scola.

When I saw that line up out there it took me a second to stop and think that may have been the only time this year when I looked at the Rockets and thought about defense.

I thought they played pretty well out there and Lowry has really started to step his game up on both sides of the ball. We actually had a defensive line up that had a decent amount of offensive punch too. It was nice to see for once this year.

I really liked what Adelman did in the 4th quarter, Prince was pounding Battier down the block, after he put jeffries on him he was scoreless from the point on.

Maybe Adelman finally realized that defense win games ;)

I think we were definitely helped by the absence of Charlie V, the JJ to Prince move was quite good though especially since JJ haven't played for what 10 years? Have to give RA that.

Not Scola, you're missing Hayes, but yeah pretty much everyone else is defensive.

also, i think it was one of the few times this year that we actually held a team under their scoring average. i think it may have been the biggest amount that we have held someone below their average ppg too.

edit...actually we held the knicks to 11 points below their current ppg average and we did the same to the pistons tonight.

As a Texans fan, I remember that feeling back in the Titans game.

Then came the Eagles... I miss Rusty Smith. :(

The 2 minutes before that was Miller, JJ, Batman, KLow and Lee. Thank god RA subbed Scola back in or else i would've vomit watching the Rockets collaspe on the offense.

Many people underestimating the Piston but they look really good on paper. They definitely have one of the best bench in the league and their starting 5, although aging, are not bad at all. They have Charlie V and B Gordon to sub in for god sake. If not for CV and RIP couldn't play due to different circumstances, the outcome of last night game could've changed easily. Especially in the case of CV coz he is the type that always burn us. (A PF who can stretch all the way beyond the arc with mobility.)

What kind of leap of logic is required to assume that beating the Pistons without Villy and Rip means we can win the championship? :p

The kind of logic displayed by an eternal optimist?
