I'm starting to feel buyer's remorse from a big trade I recently made in my (AL only) league. It involved three teams, but I'm only going to list the particulats of who I gained and lost. LOST: Pedro Martinez Carlos Pena Jeff Cirillo Darin Erstad Frank Catalanotto Miguel Tejada GAINED: Alex Rodriguez Mike Sweeney C.C. Sabathia Doug Davis What do you think ... was this a bad trade for me?
The way I see it, Pedro is as good as ARod when healthy, albeit at an easier position to fill. So, you gain a little there. But then it goes downhill. Tejada is a lot better than Sweeney, and at a much harder spot to fill to boot. Erstad, when healthy, is as good as Sabathia, when healthy. I call that a wash. Pena, though, is the real deal and likely AL RotY. Doug Davis, I'm afraid, is not. Then, adding in that you lost a great utility player in Catalanatto and then a decent 3b in Jeff Cirllo, and I'd say you lost here. Now if Pedro goes down...that changes things. But if healthy, you got the worse end of the stick there.
