Wesley helped turning around the 2004/2005 season-- the Rockets were struggling to start the season. However, his trade cost us Boki and Jim Jackson.

    Was the trade a mistake?

Boki is average, and Jackson isn't in the league. Why are you bringing up the topic?

Why look back...Wesley was good that year, Boki was an unknown.....and raw.

However, Boki is better than Wesley today...

Man if it was not for a banged up Sura, a few bad calls and a blown lead in game 3 we sweep Dallas and after that who knows?

I was a Boki guy but the moves made by CD that year patched together a flawed team and we were close to being good enough for a title.

we needed a change at that time, and, though i don't have the statistics in front of me, David Wesley's arrival coincided with a HUGE change/trend in terms of our record and ability to stay with teams.

Wesley guarded the other team's best player every game, and Boki, pre-trade, didn't do much besides get spot minutes. i think a bigger loss at the time was Jimmy Jax's offense, b/c he was a pretty reliable shooter for us. i'm glad Boki has matured into a decent defender, but even with hindsight being 20/20, i'd still do the trade b/c it brought about a much needed change - a change that propelled our run to the playoffs.

btw Van Gundier - don't get upset about the JVG-hating **cks on the board. JVG could go find a solution for the Middle East crisis tomorrow and all of the haters would complain that it took him this long to do it..

I said so at the time, and was flamed. I always thought Wesleys' contribution was overrated, although he is a very nice guy. At the time, Boki stunk, but I really liked Jim Jackson. How is Boki doing now?

I am just wondering what the general sentiment on the board is... Boki isn't doing too badly now, but I don't figure he's that much of an upgrade over our current forwards. The team NEEDED a change back then, and he was the price... and the change worked out just fine, too.

if JVG won't use him, we can at least trade him
or package him with JHo for some decent F/C.

It was a good thing for Boki. Being traded away made him realize that there was someth9ing missing in his game. Now he's finally overcome a bit.

Come on, dude, are you kidding me? Is it really that slow around here that you would feel compelled to start a thread about freakin' Boki Nachbar?

The guy is averaging 6.3 points and 2.3 rebounds in 18 minutes a game. David Wesley was started for us for almost 2 seasons. It was a very good trade.

Busti sucks and still sucks. Busti Nachbar avgs a mere 2.6 rebound per game... Busti avgs 6pts on 39% shooting... 33% 3p oint shooting all in 19mins a game... playing with 3 of the best perimeter players in the league including one of the best point guards in J-Kidd.

Can we use someone like Busti Nachbust... sure! If we needed to get Yao a playtime friend or counterstirke buddy. Other than that I dont see what possible use he would be for the Rockets.

The trade was definitely NOT a mistake. We got David Wesley for two productive season. Two seasons where he was MUCH MUCH more productive than Nachbar whom last year avged 2.8 points, 37% shooting, a whopping 1 rebound per in 9mins a game. Frankly we should be thankful we got anything of value from trading such a limited one dimensional player.

The more apt question would be, who are the 19 who voted it was a mistake and what medications are they not taking?
