I wanna know how people feel about Tracy game when he was with Orlando. And what if we had that T-Mac with this year Yao would we have another championship by now? I think Tracy was the best player in the NBA when he was with the Magic and if you put him with this year Yao I believe we would have two more championships by now.

in 02-03 arguably, although Kobe was still having an insane season. One thing Tmac did better was obviously get to the ft line more, he rebounded alot better, and played better defense. He was Mr. Versatility who could do everything. It wasnt until he came to Houston that he starting fallin in love with the jumper

he had to do alot of work in Orlando.
I would say Kobe was better. I know his supporting cast wasn't that good, but look at what LeBron did. And this is the Eastern Conference.
In the regular season, maybe slightly worse than Kobe.

oh don't forget Shaq and Tim Duncan were pretty good too.

The reason I feel like Tracy was better than Kobe is becasue he was better around the rim than Kobe and getting to the basket. Their games was much a lot the same, but to me Tracy was a little better at some things. Tracy was also a better rebounder he almost avg 8 and thats not back for a SG.

i understand the Tmac support. however, during those years, I believe the Lakers and Spurs were winning championships.

So the best players in the NBA goes as follows:
    Shaq
    Tim Duncan
    Kobe

How can you say Tmac was better than Shaq or Duncan? They dominated.

Definently yes along with Kobe Bryant, Kobe still had better team and that's it.

What if is useless, I see these threads what if MJ never retired, what if Horry left, what if Hakeem played in Eastern Conf.?!

People, come to your senses, what if doesn't exist.

And I will add one more thing, Tracy McGrady has became team player, more experienced and valuable with Houston Rockets but he obviously was better with Orlando since he didn't have no injuries back then.

    Shaq's 02-03 statistics:

    27.5 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 2.3 blks, 3.1 assists, 57% from the field

McGrady had great stats too but not nearly as effective in helping his team win. And TMac was helped by being on such a mediocre team where he took a bulk of the shots.

Many don't realize how good supporting cast Lebron actually has.

Chicken or beef? Kobe or T-mac? Tmac was the "other choice" that people said was better strictly for the hatred of Kobe.

    What hatred of Kobe?

I love both players and I can safely say that Kobe circa '02-'03 isn't as good as McGrady.

Kobe could arguably score just as well as Mac then, but Mac's physical attributes were all better than Kobe's. He's longer, taller, just as quick, just as athletic.

Skill-wise, they're about even offensively, but Mac always had better vision than Kobe.

Best player in the NBA? I don't think so. Shaq was a beast then. Duncan was rock-solid every night. But I'd put him 3rd or 4th best behind KG. Best perimeter player for sure.

If you don't make your teamates better you can not be the best player.

I don't think he was as great as Kobe, but I'll say one thing. Much like Kobe, he was one of the few players in the league that scared the crap out of me everytime he touched the ball when playing against the Rockets. He could pretty much do anything he wanted out there on the court.

He didn't scared me at all when he is playing against Rockets.
    Mobley definded him well.
We played very well against easten teams.
Magic was far from close to defeat us.
I mean 03/04 season when I began to watch Rockets games.
