Look at the state of the Rockets. They got destroyed last night against the Nuggets simply because of their atrocious interior defense. With no answer to the offensive onslaught in the paint, the Rockets were forced to foul and let the Nuggets have 40 (!!!) free throw attempts. Look at our current situation: our leading shot blocker is a SF, arguably the best defensive player in the paint is a rookie, and our center is the second shortest starting player... Should the Rockets have kept Dampier? While he is somewhat of an offensive liability, he would have certainly aided in interior D and shot blocking. Furthermore, the cost of attaining him was negligible - it was somewhere near the minimum veteran's salary and a 2nd round scrub had to be traded to make room. What do you think?
well they wouldnt let JT go so they passed on Damp. We turned JT into T-Will. So since we a rebuilding Im okay with passing on Damp. We are not going to win now anyways
I think we should have gotten him. He would have been cheap and helpful immediately. And foremost, his contract wouldnt have hampered our future. For those that say he is no good. He seems to be what Miami wanted.
Damp didn't want to stay here once Yao got hurt. Even if he was here,he would have demanded a trade. His contribution wouldn't have been much IMO.
The impact he would have made here, as laughable as it sounds, would have been huge. Remember what Mutombo did during our 22 game win streak year? Think that. I'll give Adelman credit, he does a such a good job covering up the gaping need we have at C with our current brand of basketball. The kind of brand of basketball that gets you nowhere when it counts.
We didn't let Damp go....he say us stinking up the joint at the beginning of the season and wanted no part of us.
The word on the street that he was about to come to Houston, but he "had a change of heart" and went to Miami instead. That translates to one of either Lebron, Wade, or Bosh sucking him up. Take your pic.
