I was talking to my friend who knows a lot about the Rockets. He said that Mobley wants to stay in Houston, but the Rockets will be gone in to years, and he should've signed a two year deal, worth more money I think. I am not sure if I agree with him. I would like to know what you think about what he said. I am so glad Mobley resigned, cause he is a great player, and I love to watch him play. He has the potential to be a great player. Scoring 16 points a game off the bench isn't exactly easy.

    Welcome back FABR!

(In case you guys were wondering, it's pretty obvious when the guy has the same name as FABR (Dave) and has the same website and then the same email as his old name off the website.)

Are you really expecting someone to to post here and say "Yes, I believe Cuttino was dumb for signing with the Rockets for $30million over 6 years?" Though possible, I think its highly unlikely.

I meant since he didn't care much about money, he should've got a two year contract and if the Rockets move go else where, and get more money.

By the way, even if the Rockets were to leave, and I don't believe that they will, their Compaq Center lease doesn't expire until 2003, which would be 3 more seasons if I'm correct on the way the lease is set up.

As far as the question, I think Cuttino signed more out of love for Rudy, Steve, and the Rockets organization than the city of Houston itself.

Well, we know why he chose the name steviewonder, because he's BLIND!!

The Rockets are not moving anywhere, thanks to Jeff and SOR.com...The only real threat came from Necktucky, and they've pretty much given up trying to get the Rockets to move there...I hear Charlotte is having arena troubles, though...

The $31 mil in Mobley's contract is guaranteed, which means that, barring any major screw-ups on Mobley's part, he WILL get $31 million from the Rockets, or any other NBA team if Houston decides to trade him before his contract runs out...

Now, if I had the choice between the following:

    a) $31 million, no questions asked
    b) $12-15 million, then the POSSIBILITY of getting more money in a couple of years...

I'd have to go with the former...Mobley knows that the next time he jumps in the air, he could come down and his entire career can be ruined by a torn ACL...

Think about it....$31 million....that is a LOT of money...Life is short, and Mobley knows that he better get as much as he can right now, because you never know what will happen tomorrow...

DUMB? Yeah, tell that to Cuttino as he's cruisin' with his son in the new Benz to his brand new mansion in River Oaks

A home is not a home without a family. Isn't what Cuttino loves is his Rocket family... Little Stevie Wander, Rudy T, CD, Hakeem, et al?

a-train.. i hope you are right but the deal is far from being certain at the moment.. true this is a good deal but the voters still have to be convinced... jeff and sor.com are doing a great job and will help this deal greatly but i expect the vote to be very close and probably decided by who does the best campaigning right before the vote.. i'm far more concerned about the vote then i am thi s year's basketball season at the moment
