After watching the Olympics, I said to myself..
"The Rocket should pick up a foreign player to jack up jumpers"

then I realized we had Boki.

I have no idea if he was any good internationally. I know you Boki-maniacs can tell me the scoop.

Also, The Rockets should pick that PG from Lithuania with the impossible to say name.

Rudy traveled to Europe to see this Denver kid Nitschkivili ( iknow I butchered that name),,, and while watching him in workouts caught a european tournament where he saw Boki... He was amazed at his slashing ability and how he could take it to the basket like not many european players can do. So he drafted him... Boki is not the pure shooter that a Peja is but I believe he can still be a 3 point threat given more playing time. And the kid always plays with energy and heart. I was really impressed with his effort in the playoffs. He is still an excellent finisher. And in time will become a starting SF for someone in this league...

what about Mirshad Turkan? where did Rudy find this dude? At the Rucker park in Istanbul?

I hope Boki gets more PT. I'm worried the Rockets are lacking shooters.

Whatever happened to Petruska? He and Eric Riley were real comfortable at the end of the Rockets bench during the good years.

there was a documentary on Sunday morning (on Showtime) on basketball throughout the world. Boki was on thereas part of the Euroleague's Basketball without Borders program - where each country sends its best 2 players to a camp in Europe to work with coaches, scouts, and euro NBA players.

Jaric, Kirilinko, and Boki were some of the NBA players working at the 2003 clinic - (and I think he was there again this year - if I remember hearing the JVG interview correctly) so Houston was represented

also... here is that shooter that you all were drooling for (btw - he was little interest from NBA teams)

    Willis,

Everywhere that guy has played he has won a championship.

He is already better than any PG on the Rockets roster.

Why hasn't an NBA team dialed his number?

Damn, SJC, you beat me to the punch.

I actually came on right now sole for the purpose to post how we should sign some of the LTV players. Man they looked really good. Just what we need too. Great shooter and can handle the ball. With Yao and TMac, that's just what we need.

And to think this guy is not even in the NBA. When can we draft him? Doubt we can, but if we pull it off it'll be the steal of the decade.

"I can't just walk into a team's locker room and say, 'Hey, I came to play for your team,' Jasikevicius said after being asked why he hasn't played in the NBA. "I had no propositions at all from the NBA so far, and since those guys know what they're doing, I guess I'm not supposed to be able to play in the NBA."

    HURRY!

That's because he's a Free Agent. I was reading an article about the fact that he actually had an out in his club team contract that said if an NBA team signed him before a certain date, he could leave without a buyout. Unfortunately that date passed without an NBA team going after him.

Rice was old and playing on one leg; Pike, true; Boki was rumoured to be a Peja with less shooting ability but better ballhandling and slasher, I'm not sure what the hell that is.

    narrower lane ? longer 3 pt line ? the one-on-one play ?!?

look I don't know why he's not in the NBA, but he went to college here and people know who he is... I was just passing along the information I read

one point that the documentary made was that these Euroleague guys are heros overseas and have no desire to be role players here (the fans there are like soccer fans on crack.... I thought they were going to burn the building down after the championship) - so maybe that is also part of it too

btw - the documentary is called CROSSOVER you all should check it out -

Maybe true, although I am still baffled by the Peja comparison. Don't say he's Peja if he's not Peja. I think we'd also all agree that at least at this point Ginobili is the MUCH better player.

Then "need to develop a jumpshot" or "not a very polished shooter" would probably be more appropriate. As you can tell, I cracked up hearing that one. :D
