I remember hearing an interview with Warren Zevon's son and they played some of his father's last album.
I thought it was simply amazing!

I dont' own any W.Z. and was wondering which other albums are really good and worth getting?

    rock on dudes....

The albums I like the best are:
    1.Warren Zevon
    2.Excitable Boy

These two albums contain most of his hits and are the ones I like the best. There are good songs some of his other albums, but I like almost every song on these two discs.

I like this one. It contains his greatest hits from the first half of his career. Still got it on vinyl.

    "Best of" is great.

The new one, "The Wind," is amazing. The lyrics are really poignant when you consider he was dying.

"Sentimental Hygiene" was the one that first drew me to his music. Several high-profile guests on that album -- including REM as his back-up band. Solid album.

Also, look for "Raspberry Beret" by the Hindu Love Gods on the Internet ...

Did I see him perform that on Letterman many, many, years ago?

    It's highly probable.

The Hindu Love Gods were Zevon and REM getting drunk and cranking out a bunch of cuts live in the studio (I assume during the "Sentimental Hygiene" sessions). It's a pretty sloppy record, but it has some choice cuts including their cover of "Raspberry Beret."

Sentimental Hygiene is one of my favorite albums.

Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Don Henley, Brian Setzer, David Lindley, the aforementioned REM...
