Would you do this? If were going to trade with NY then how about this? Houston trades: PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 16.8 minutes) SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 41.7 minutes) C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes) Houston receives: C Kurt Thomas (14.0 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 2.0 apg in 31.8 minutes) SG Allan Houston (22.5 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.7 apg in 37.9 minutes) Change in team outlook: +10.2 ppg, -1.3 rpg, and -0.9 apg. New York trades: C Kurt Thomas (14.0 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 2.0 apg in 31.8 minutes) SG Allan Houston (22.5 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.7 apg in 37.9 minutes) New York receives: PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 82 games) SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 73 games) C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 73 games) Change in team outlook: -10.2 ppg, +1.3 rpg, and +0.9 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED NY gets a legit center (in east) and a younger version of Houston In Cat. Houston gets 2 veteran players that know VG's system well. We also get rid of Mooch's contract. Our starting lineup would look like this. C - Ming PF- Thomas SF- JJ SG- Houston PG- Francis
cat and houston put up sumilar #'s. the difference is cat is a great defender while houson is a great shooter. i still would rather have cat and his normal sized contract. cato and thomas are similar aswell. i tihnk thosam is a little younger, but cato is more athletic. considering that thomas wants to opt out of his contract at the end of this year to go after a more "catolike" one i would not trade for him.
Well when does Allan Houston's contract expire? i think it would be decent for us but wouldn't make a big impact....and knicks...why would they do it?
Well I'm not too worried about D if we have JJ and a.griffin on the bench but what I don feal weary about in that trade is the Kurt Thomas for Cato. I don't know if Thomas will be able to hold up himself in the West. Will thomas be able to hold up playing back up center in the west if the injury bug hits us?
Dallas trades: SF Antawn Jamison (22.2 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 1.9 apg in 39.3 minutes) Dallas receives: C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes) SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 41.7 minutes) Change in team outlook: -0.2 ppg, +3.1 rpg, and +1.3 apg. Houston trades: C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes) SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 41.7 minutes) Houston receives: SF Antawn Jamison (22.2 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 1.9 apg in 82 games) Change in team outlook: +0.2 ppg, -3.1 rpg, and -1.3 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED
Allan Houston is the perfect player to put on Yao Ming's team, however, he just makes too much money. I'd love to have Micheal Redd in his place though. Since they released Caffey and Mason, Why don't we trade Mobley and Griffin for Micheal Redd and Toni Kukoc, and then sign Anthony Mason? Yao/Cato/Meech MoT/Mason/Meech JJ/Boki/Kukoc Redd/Pike/JJ Francis/Mooch/Wilks I think Redd can produce INREDIBLE numbers playing alongside Ming and Francis. Kukoc's contract is expiring which gives us 5M in the offseason. Signing Mason for 1 or 2 seasons for the minimum or part of the exception would be great. He'd add the toughness that we're lacking at PF.
I think Houston would be a great fit with the Rockets; what we need from our third scorer is shooting, plain and simple, and Allan is right now one of the top five pure shooters in the game. Now whether it's worth giving up quality players for him AND taking on his contract is another question. I can tell you Knicks fans are really interested in shedding players from their roster at the moment, to the point of buying out guys like Travis Knight, Othella Harrington and even Charlie Ward.
No way would I do this trade. You guys need to understand that some of these horrible contracts that you sign players to, you are going to have to pay them off. Why trade Cato and Cat just to get rid of Moochie's contract? Cat is a better all around player than Houston, not to mention Houston has that $12 million dollar a year contract. Why trade a legitimate center in Cato, that is coming into his own, for a too small, average, PF in Kurt Thomas. Leave well enough alone this season and if things dont pan out, adjust the roster in the off season and use the $7 million dollar trade exception then.
I think EP will play well for us. Yao will get a lot of double teams, and hopefully with his passing ability he can get the ball into the right hands.... Piatkowski. JJ and Cuttino will have to start shooting the ball better. I think JVG will start the one making their shots and playing smart.
I agree with McKee. I have never understood why so many posters are on the Kirt Thomas bandwagon! He's 6-8 or 6-9 at best and plays the 4/5 in the East. Anybody can play 4/5 in the East. Besides, we already have PIG !!!
at least if we got houston to join the rockets, we could get the word "houston" on our jerseys just thought i throw in some humor
