I got a phone call on my cell phone from phone number 800-614-9018. Whatever you do, do not pick up from this number. What they do is offer you something, and when you hang up it connects to the internet and downloads a virus on your phone. If you don't pick up, they leave a message that is very staticy at the beginning and clear at the end with a phone number to call.Whatever you do, do not call that number either. A virus will be downloaded to your phone. I guess it's a new scam, so be careful.
I don't answer calls from a number I don't recognize and I don't open emails from an address I don't recognize. Seems pretty simple.
It hijacks your phone, and downloads something to it. Right after you hang up with them your phone goes to the web and it downloads it. Pretty annoying. Anyways the number they leave on the message is 866-853-4932.

Yeah. Just happened to me. I have a Pocket PC based phone and then after the virus my phone looks like a Nokia phone. And when I tried to make a phone call all I heard was modem connect noises. I think they just uploaded a virus into my brain. Why else would I read this stupid thread?
Caller ID is a godsend. I never pick up the phone unless I know who is calling. And even then sometimes I don't pick up the phone. My rule is, if it's important, leave a message and I may get back to them. Otherwise I dont have time.
I don't answer my phone unless I'm expecting a call and I never answer it if I don't know who is is. Just leave a message if it's so important.

That's exactly what I do. I have not answered one single call that I did not recognize the number for years.
Google the number. That's what I found: "800-309-8847 baton rouge phone directory" They must be trying to get you to advertise in their phone books.
