I wonder what these men would tell others about how they got injured.

Roach Spray Explodes, Blows Up Eatery

1 hour, 16 minutes ago Strange News - AP

PERTH, Australia - An overzealous attempt to rid a Thai restaurant of cockroaches sparked an explosion that blew the eatery apart, emergency services said Thursday.

Three men were hospitalized with burns after they set off 36 cockroach fumigation devices — aerosol cans filled with chemicals — which apparently exploded after their contents came into contact with an oven pilot light.

Duncraig fire station officer Kieran Cooper said the blast wrecked the restaurant.

John McMillan, manager of Western Australia state's fire investigations unit, said the huge blast lifted the roof off the Tamarind restaurant in the state capital, Perth.

"The restaurant owner has used the principle that if you use twice the soap, you get your hands twice as clean. He's just overdone it," McMillan said.

Well, at least they don't have a roach problem anymore.

You misunderstand me, now that the restaurant is gone, they don't have an infested restaurant.

This has happened many times before and is actually documented on snopes.com where it has mostly happened at people's homes. Sad thing is the roaches usually survive anyway.

I hate roaches. I've been fortunate and haven't seen any in my house yet.

I'd rather wake up with spiders crawling on me than see those nasty ass roaches. At least spiders serve a purpose.

Hey, in some of those restaurants, the roaches are considered ingredients! Extra seasoning. :D

Now that it's spring and summer, I'll get a couple of large palmetto bugs in my house every night. I will not be able to find where they are coming from. You can spray and put out baits, but I wish they weren't in there in the first place. Those things get big. :(

maybe he was laughing at your claim, as in, no way a fire could destroy a roach population...

I mean they can survive nuclear holocaust...

I know when I'm licked, a joke isn't funny if you have to explain it. But for my peace of mind, I wasn't saying the roaches were destroyed at all. Now that the restaurant is gone, they don't have a restaurant to worry about, therefore they don't have a roach infestation problem. That spot could be the universal nexus of all roach existence, but because their restaurant doesn't exist there anymore, it can't technically be infested therefore they can't technically have a roach problem.
