I don't know if it has been posted yet (haven't seen it), but according to Sportsradio 610, Ward is out and Lue will get the start for tonight. Apparently, he has a sore right knee. Just thought, I would let you guys know... If this has been posted, then please lock it.
Thanks for the update! I guess that's more playing time for Nachbar and Bowen since JJ may have to play the point.
He only has ONE knee, this is really gonna hurt the Rockets PG position, starting a guy with just one knee is questionable at best. This is grounds for firing JVG..who is with me....ARRRRRR DD
Im not sure but during my lunchbreak I heard a small clip of someone talking about how a nice fit Jason Kidd would be on the Rockets with Yao and Tmac. They only played the clip of the person saying it then cut to commercial. Can someone confirm if this happened or if the person saying it is credible?
I didn't hear anything, but #1 we couldn't afford him and #2 he woundn't fit Jeff Van gundy's system that well other than that, it would be nice!!!
It was one of those clips that make fun of callers who call in and make ridiculous proposals. It was like the clips they play over and over again where they say "We are fine" and callers continue to say "How are you doing?".
I wish he was out for every game. Really, how washed-up do you have to be to make Ty Lue look good? Have the Rockets ever had a worse starting PG?
A sore right knee could be causing his shot to be off the mark. We need a better PG, but let's be fair.
Any other case i would be upset but w/ him out we really dont loss to much of anything. Hes not the deciding factor in any game, at least i dont think so.
Lue played pretty well against Portland. He had 9 points, 8 assists, and 4 rebounds. He played with intensity and made quick pinpoint passes. I hope that he can continue to play that way in the future. If he does, Ward will not have much playing time in the future.
Fair? On a message board? @#%* that! But seriously, if he's been regularly playing with an injury that has cut his effectiveness to zero, then he's hurting the team anyway. Either way you cut it, he stinks. To be honest, I don't know why we signed Ward in the first place other than JVG trusts him. As I remember, the Knicks were always looking to upgrade their PG position while he was there. I think that he's always been a mediocre NBA player who has only gotten worse with age. Somebody like Payton may have dropped off in recent years because of age, but he's coming down from a pretty high spot - whereas Ward was never very good to begin with.
Good point. Besides our SG and C positions, we really do not have good players. JJ is getting old, Ward is already old, Lue is undersized, and you know our PF positions. I am actually amazed we are at .500 now. Even during Lakers' (Shaq, Kobe) years, they at least have Fisher at the PG position.
