Trump to bring back presidential physical fitness test canceled by Obama
Trump plans to sign an executive order resurrecting the test, which for decades pushed children across the country to do 40 push-ups, 10 pull-ups and a 6.5-minute mile.

President Donald Trump on Thursday will bring back the presidential fitness test for America’s children and charge a slate of famous athletes with helping him inspire “a new generation of healthy, active citizens,” a White House official said.

Trump plans to sign an executive order resurrecting the test, which for decades pushed children across the country to do 40 push-ups, 10 pull-ups and a 6.5-minute mile — some of the requirements to earn a Presidential Physical Fitness Award. The Obama administration disbanded the test in 2012, replacing it with a program focused on overall health instead of athleticism.

Trump seeks to combat “the widespread epidemic of declining health and physical fitness with a time-tested approach celebrating the exceptionalism of America’s sports and fitness traditions,” according to the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to preview the president’s announcement.

The official cited “crisis levels” of obesity, poor nutrition and inactivity as reasons for the move and said, “These trends weaken our economy, military readiness, academic performance and national morale.”

Several high-profile athletes will help Trump unveil the program and serve on the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, including professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau, who will chair the council. Other athletes will attend Thursday afternoon’s signing: controversial NFL kicker Harrison Butker, World Wrestling Entertainment mainstay Paul “Triple H” Levesque, golfer Annika Sorenstam and football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor.

Surely the healthiest president in history will perform these tests of strength on the front lawn of the White House

Ignore fascism in action and post about… lol.

But obesity is a big issue, and it’s not a laughing matter. This will surely solve our growing obesity problem.

I don't even understand why people care about stuff like this...

Nothing Obama or Trump did is going to stop some parent from feeding their kid mcdonald's and letting them sit on their ass all day..

There are actual real things that can be done but there's too much money involved...Instead they just keep everyone distracted watching the ping pong ball go back and forth. Democrat comes in office and does a bunch of BS...Republican reverses the bs and does some crap...Democrat gets the office and the cycle continues....

Meanwhile everyone acts like when the other side wins it's the end of the world and the US is going downhill and irreparable damage will be done...

Obesity wasn’t anywhere near the issue it is today. This is way too easy of a fix. Just bring back the old program and boom.. problem solved.

And yet here I am....Once again amazed that someone would talk out of their ass when we are all on the internet where this info is readily available...

Serious questions...What is it that makes you just say crap and not be concerned with whether or not it's true or not?

I know you don't care, but you're definitely going on ignore. I don't waste my time with people that just say ****. But before I put you in a cage, I really am genuinely curious why people like you do that?

Good idea. This is good in case they need to run away from Republican Pedos.

I can't help but think about how Republicans went mental when Michelle Obama tried to make school lunches healthier.

They don’t. It’s just trolling and distracting from Trump being in the Epstein files and admitting the other day that he knew about Epstein literally trafficking 16 year olds out of Mar A Lago and only got mad because those 16 year olds were his property.

Also Bryson DeShambaue (however you spell it) must have been proud to be made a prop when he was the only respected athlete there in a mix a deviants and sexual predators like LT. Dude looked like a damn fool.

But yeah I mean whatever. Good luck getting kids these days to do 11 pull ups. Maybe Daddy Trump can model what that looks like first. Let’s see Trump run a 6.5 minute mile before I start training my kid.

Hard problems like obesity can totally be solved with an executive order that brings back an outdated school program. You know, like the one Mississippi still uses, “Governor’s Awards” and all, because nothing screams modern public health like clinging to a Executive-era fitness test. Funny thing: Mississippi ranks dead last in both childhood and adult obesity. Guess the magic fix didn’t quite work there.

But yeah, bring it back nationwide and boom, problem solved.

(Also, just to clarify since tone gets lost online, that was sarcasm. I’m not seriously claiming a 1960s gym test will fix America’s obesity crisis. Thought the absurdity of it was clear, but maybe not. No big deal.)

So . . . any possibility of getting healthy foods to these kids?
Maybe some kind of school lunch programs?
    or
Should they do all this on empty stomachs
