Check out this site. It's called Yesterdayland.com, and it is full of memories of decades past. Here, you'll find your favorite cartoons, toys, lunchboxes, and TV shows. I even found the first star I really went gaga over: Linda Carter! Lasso me, baby!
I loved Wonder Woman! I was about six when that show was on, and I loved it so much I sent Ms. Carter a letter. She actually sent me back an autographed picture. Of course my father (age 28 at the time) used to loved that show just as much as I did. It was only until much later that I realized his interest in her had less to do with her fabulous super powers and more to do with her fabulous super boobs.
I kissed my first girlfriend behind a propped-up brown vinyl Beany and Cecil lunchbox back in the first grade. You should also check out www.hometownfavorites.com for vintage candies from previous decades. Wax fangs, candy cigarettes, little wax bottles of juice, etc. My wife ordered a basket for her sister's 40th and you can't believe how many people got nostagic over that stuff.
I don't know if she was the first, but in middle school, it was Erin Gray from Buck Rogers, the Gil Gerard era... I think the first star I went gaga over might have been Princess Leia!?!
Jezz, the Buck Rogers and Wonder Woman references are making me feel young - my first crush was Paula Abdul.
We all know The Go Go's dominated the 80's with passion, but how they could fail to mention their triumphant return is just mind boggling.
Wow! I forgot about Doogie Howser and Life goes on. why dont they ever show reruuns of those shows anywhere?
Man, Linda Carter and Erin Gray. Yeow. Anyway, hey HEAD, do you remember the episode of Buck Rogers where the little people were trying to make her clothes come off so they could examine her "bumps"? They kept chanting "off think"... ah, those were the days.
I've been going to yesterdayland.com for quite a while, sometimes posting under the name, Jamz. Its a great site, and they update it often.
