http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2002/1031/1454031.html Shaq reportedly uttered obscenity at Walton ESPN.com news services Broadcaster Bill Walton has made NBA's biggest man quite unhappy. The Lakers' Shaquille O'Neal has been upset with Walton after his comments about Shaq's weight and uttered a profanity at the former great while passing him in the locker room Wednesday, the Los Angeles Times reported. The newspaper reported O'Neal telling Walton, "I ain't no peon. You better watch your mouth." Walton said if Shaq was lighter he might not have as severe foot problems. "All I ask the players is to listen to what I say, not what someone told them I said," Walton said in the report. O'Neal reported his weight at 342 pounds and said his body fat was 17 percent. "He talks too much," O'Neal said to the Los Angeles Times. "Don't act like you're my friend and then talk derogatory about me." ------------------------------ Thought this was funny. Man, Shaq is in a feud with everybody.
First thing I thought of as well. I like Walton. He's quite funny once you adjust to his tongue-in-cheek style. I always thought that during the playoffs Walton kissed a little too much of Shaq's back side. Maybe it's a case of "what have you done for me lately"! Can "thin skin" also put you on the IR?
Walton is under contract and is connected to Turner Broadcasting so I say he gets Barkley to watch his back pronto!
Personally, I think Shaq has huge a chip on his shoulder. First with the comments on Yao during the off-season, then the whole Sacremento "Queens" thing, now this. I think he's just pissed because he swings like a girl and millions of people know it.
A 'friend' who is a 'reporter' cannot report the truth? BTW -- Walton was lighter, is lighter and had, and is still having, foot operations. Walton, when healthy may have been the very best '5' EVER. Shaq may be the very best '5' ever. Go, Yao, be footloose (and fancy free), and grab the BEST EVER mantle!
