    I watched that press conference... that poor family. Made me sad watching John and his wife up there. But at least they have some sort of closure and he seemed grateful for that.

    Wait....

    the only new information is that the police decided to close the case?

    Is that right? There have been no new developments or anything?

    It's like the Hollywood chief of police was cleaning out his filing cabinet and came across the 27-year-old case (still open) and just said, "hell, let's just call this closed and git 'er done."

    Is that it?!?!?!

    Exactly, droxford is right. The newest development happened 10 years ago when the murderer confessed on his deathbed. The police chief and Walsh were long convinced it was this guy. The only difference is they had a press conference to say so.

    Man, I remember watching the made for TV movie on Adam as a kid. Going to Sears was never the same after that.

    It's not exactly clear but I'm guessing the niece of the killer, who the killer confessed to on his deathbead, recently revealed the confession.
