Ben Wallace was just named league MVP. Anybody have an idea when the Rookie of the Year will be announced?http://www.nba.com/news/wallace_030423.html
Ben wouldn't have been the defensive player of the year if he was in the west. I say ban the east players of any awards
Or Defensive Player of the Year != League MVP I think of programing everytime I see someone use <> or !=. B
t-mac would be an MVP canidate if he was was in the west AND if his team was good. If the Orlando Magic were in the West they would probably be the 12th seed so I doubt he would get any MYP hype on the 12th best team in the West.
Yeah, when that Elton Brand goes to the western conference he sure is going to suck...Doh! Vin Baker will dominate the east once he's out of the tough west...Doh! Blah, blah, blah.
No, but they said Wallace would. Or at least wouldn't be anything special. And that's just wrong. He'd still be leading the league in rebounding and right there in shotblocking. This same exact argument was said when Brand went to the Clippers. He'd be mediocre, a product of the East that would be nothing in the great West. Wasn't true. Same argument was used to say that Vin Baker would dominate again in the East. Wasn't true. It's a crap argument.
i'm not sure the magic would be the 12th seed in the west. you can't just take their current record and plop it down in the west and say "hey, they come out 12th!" you have to consider the fact that the teams they would play would differ. sure, they'd have to play the lakers, spurs, etc. more. but they'd also get to play the nuggets, grizz, and clippers more. plus, they'd probably build their team differently, given the different types of teams they'd have to beat. one thing is true, though: t-mac would still be an mvp candidate.
