Atheletes was a character from Greek mythology. He impressed the gods with his wingspan, vertical leap, bench press, and "upside," but his story ended in tragedy, as he was never able to get off the grotto in the early games of Mt. Olympus.
For the lazy ones out there: 1. Roman Sebrle, decathalete 2. Lebron 3. Floyd Mayweather 4. Ladainian T 5. Federer (? O RLY) 6. Sidney Crosby (Penguins) 7. Liu Xiang, hurdler 8. Jeremy Wariner, sprinter 9. Ronaldo de Assis Moreira (futbol) 10. A-Rod (? O RLY)
I agree on Federer. I always got the impression that Nadal was the better athlete. I think the biggest joke on here is Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, i.e. Ronaldinho. How can you be one of the world's top ten athletes if your club is willing to let you go for a cut rate? He's not even the best soccer player named 'Ronaldo.' Cristiano Ronaldo is on top of the soccer world right now. There's talks of a 100 million euro bid for him. Manchester City is the only club willing to pony up any real cash for Ronaldinho, who can't even get on the pitch for his current club.
See...I dunno. The thing is, I understand where they're trying to go with this as a "strength/conditioning" type thing, and I know they mentioned Tiger was just a bit off the top ten...but if you can fit Ronaldinho and A-Rod on it...I mean come on...Tiger is preformance defined, the guy wins like everything in his sport.
I might be lazy on Sundays, but this is lazy posting. At least copy the article onto your original post. Its annoying when just a link to an article shows up in the first post.
I don't think the club letting him go at a cut rate means he sux. He just doesn't fit in their plans anymore and thats mainly due to his "big boy" attitude over the past couple of seasons as well as his rivalry with Eto'o. Sure he had a loss of form but as they say, form is temporary class is permanent. Everyone who watches the game knows he will get back to where he was if he does the things he needs to do, ie- redevelop the hunger to win trophies, stop the bad attitude. But I do agree with you about CRonaldo. He is the one that should be on the list. If this were 2005 or 2006 I could agree with Ronaldinho being there but its 2008 and it should be the portuguese lad.
Stupid list...it's like they were comparing sports instead of athletes. If Lebron is number 2, where's Kobe? If Crosby is 6, where's Ovechkin? If Tomlinson is 4, where's Peterson? It would have been much more interesting if they took the time to list the top 100.
These lists are always stupid. I dont want to sound like I'm hating on the U.S. but most of the time with these lists its some writer who goes through all the U.S sports, then gets clever and throws in a soccer player or two...and feels like that makes his list legit.
