This is the truth. No, not Paul Pierce. Ron Artest is new to the team. It will take a while before he will be fully integrated with the team's offensive and defensive schemes. Lack of communication is pretty normal when dealing with new looks and new faces in basketball. The plays quoted are just examples. They are not exactly what I'm getting at. My point is that plays like that will happen. Sometimes, it will be during a slow part of the game, or even when we're fighting for a W. It will happen when we're up 30; and it might just happen in the clutch. The Rafer-to-McGrady backdoor alley-oop? That's all chemistry. T-Mac dishing the ball without seeing the player? That's all chemistry. Yao knowing where to kick the ball out to? That's all chemistry. Chuck knowing when to step in and take the charge? That's all chemistry. The Rockets, as a new team, don't quite have it yet. This is not excusing poor, lazy, lethargic, languorous play. This is not to excuse blown layups or missed shots. This is not excusing the lack of excecution and effort for most of the Blazers game. This is just a reminder to be patient. It's an 82 game season and it takes a ton of hard work to get to the playoffs and to be a championship team. It takes chemistry. And chemistry takes time to build. I, for one, am still excited at the prospect of getting Shane back healthy and watching this team as the season progresses.
