His latest deplorable actions have officially made him untradeable. We will not be able to get anything other than bloated longterm contracts, even in the goldrush for 2010 cap space. He is still a cancer and needs to be dealt with. The Rockets will be better off just waiving him and taking the salary hit next year. We've basically been paying to sit at home this year anyway, and have been playing better without him! It is doubtful that there are any contenders out there that would eagerly snatch him up off waivers, and if they do, oh well... He's more likely to destroy a team from within than get one over the hump. Let's just wash our hands of the whole thing and move on.
Don't waive him. I know you are angry but as a GM you have to make a rational decision. Trade him next year.
Waive? Either trade his contract next year or tell him to rehab and sit, let the contract run out, and have a lot of money free up. What's the "worse" that will happen? He makes a comeback? Basically every other course of action is many times better than waiving him.
The teams gearing up for the 2010 sweepstakes have already set their tables. No GM in their right mind is going to give up anything worthwhile for McGrady, just to be an also-ran in that market.
He needs to be kept as far from the rest of the team as possible. If they're not going to waive him tell the security guards to arrest him if he trespasses on Rockets property. Or maybe just shoot him on sight.
So you keep him, get insurance on his contract next year and let it run out and free up money for 2010. I would imagine if you waive him you get ZERO back.
If he doesn't play again next season. He's reportedly trying to comeback next season to showcase himself for 2010 free agency.
Waive him? Maybe you are comfortable with having absolutely nothing to show for him but as a rational GM, Morey is going to hang onto him til this summer or possibly next February to see what his $23M expiring contract is worth in the NBA market. There's plenty of GM's that will be salivating over that contract in future. Waiving him now would be completely idiotic and accomplishes nothing.
Next time your car breaks down, I think you should just give it to me. Just wash your hands of it. Obviously, it's broken and have no trade-in value either. So I'll just take it off your hands.
LMAO. Now Tracy is a fugitive. Too bad he has human powers that will block those bullets and any security guards in his way. Hes coming for YOU. BEWARE.
When you think you could of had Billups+Sheed for this guy... What a joke! Biggest mistake in Rockets history? Not trading Tracy for Billups and Sheed.
