TMac is back, who knows for how many minutes over the next month until he hopefully gets his body back in better health. Yao shows definite improvement, but needs more time working with everyone including TMac to make his own new chemistry really work.

Sura is still out, Wesley finally shows a glimmer of coming back. DA, Rafer, Swift and Head are all brand new to Gundy ball, TMac and Yao.

If TMac stays healthy I would be quite happy with us being just over .500 going into the holidays; and with continued gradual improvement from the new players. But I also will not be upset with struggles by the team and by individuals over the next 6 weeks. I expect Gundy to gradually make each player better and help develop chemistry like we saw last year after Jan 1. Stro might take into the spring - remember JHow didn't really click on his role until a little later.

And then if Sura can come back - if - then we have our junk yard dog able to fire up the team but not needing to play as many minutes as last year. That alone should help Sura and Wesley going into the playoffs - they won't be exhausted.

I expect some dumb play from time to time, lack of inspired play, people finding their place in the Gundy scheme. So I won't be complaining from game to game until January....

Then someone can start the obligatory Fire Gundy thread. :D

When Sura comes back, EVERYTHING will click for this team -- you can hold me to that.

The ONLY thing I never liked about Sura was his propensity to lquickly look past Yao. Hopefully, he'll be better this season since Yao is playing more aggressively.

One question: I don't recall seeing Sura on the bench during games. Why has he been so invisible?

those will be good times. I miss Sura's tenacity and aggressiveness. We need his all around game.

Nothing against the Rockets coach, but we need Sura to help TMac run the offense with Anderson and Alston coming off the bench to spare our leaders minutes and keep them fresh.

A wee bit unrelated, but I spotted Sura today at Fung's kitchen eating dim sum. He had a hot girl with him, a couple of older people, and an Asian couple eating with him. A Puma visor was covering most of his face, but it was definitely him. He's not very big. Seemed to really like the food there.
