    https://www.complex.com/sports/2019/11/dion-waiters-overdosed-gummie-team-place

Sports radio host Andy Slater reported Friday that one of the Miami Heat's players suffered a medical emergency on the team plane. In a follow-up, Slaters tweeted that the player was Dion Waiters, who was listed as out of the night's game against the Lakers due to illness.

Waiters reportedly passed out on the plane ride after he "overdosed" on gummies. He allegedly had a seizure when he woke up. Neither the Heat nor Waiters has confirmed the details
    .

Waiters has had a bad start to the year. Maybe he gets cut and bought out. I would think that the NBA would suspend him for substance abuse but maybe they don’t care about weed anymore

Not gonna sugarcoat this, but sounds like he should mallow out on the candy a bit. Being on the team plane was a Lifesaver. Shouldn't gumball with one's health. He's young, with Good & Plenty years left, life is mint to be precious.

The team's Management & Medical staff should have tighter control over what the players take. Nuts that they don't.

Get suspended for drugs, 'n you get an unpaid vacation courtesy of the League office, right?

To fee, or not to fee for this incident. That is the question.

It's about time that the league intervenes and goes hard on this. It's one thing to smoke a cigarette and another to overdose on the team plane of all places. It crosses the line big time.
Send him to rehab, and suspend him for at least 10 games.
Children are watching and following this league.

Miami Heat guard Dion Waiters experienced a panic attack on the team's charter flight Thursday night after consuming a THC-infused edible, sources told ESPN.

Waiters received medical treatment after the plane landed in Los Angeles following the Heat's victory over the Phoenix Suns. Waiters was listed as out for Friday's game against the Lakers due to illness and did not attend the game.

Waiters missed the game in Phoenix because of a stomach ache and was seeking relief when he took the edible that he was unfamiliar with, sources said. League rules prohibit the use of THC.

    The Heat declined to comment.

He did fly back to Miami with the Heat Saturday.

Miami radio station 640 AM first reported Waiters had a reaction to gummies on Friday.

The Heat suspended Waiters for their season opener last month for "conduct detrimental to the team" after he expressed frustration about his role on the team on social media. He has been on the active list for only two of the Heat's nine games thus far but has yet to dress and sit on the bench for a game.

He also missed time during the preseason for what the team labeled personal reasons.

Waiters faces missing out on a $1.2 million contract bonus if he misses more than three more games this season. Waiters is owed $24 million over this season and next as part of a deal he signed with the Heat in 2017.

He lost his spot in the Heat's rotation as two rookie guards, Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn, have had strong starts to the season.

How do you have a seizure from THC? I have never heard of this. I think there is some misinformation being spread. If it was a panic attack, hopefully he doesnt take these again, I don't think the league should go hard on him as others have said. People on here acting like he OD'd on meth.

I think the word seizure scares people, he didn't have one apparently, and even if he did it was secondary to a drug. Maybe his camp put it out there to increase sympathy since there are likely going to be repercussions for him. Truth is waiters is a knucklehead dumbass that needs to get his **** together. Wtf is he doing eating THC gummies on a team plane.

I think they used "seizure" trying to do Waitors a favor, because the dude get too high and had a panic attack. Getting too high on an airplane does sound like one of the worst places to have that happen.

seriously though- edibles can be really potent and I think the dosage is all over the place. I’ve seen experienced peeps freak out after just a couple.

People who have done edibles, or have been around people doing edibles know whats up. Highly, highly likely he did not have a seizure and had a panic attack.

Edibles are so ****ing strong, that many people freak out so badly that they think they are dying.

Isn't mar1juana illegal for NBA players to use? Will he be getting a suspension? Is it now legal to do in the legal states?
