This guy kind of gets on my nerves a little bit, but I can't really say anything since it's all WP48 stats and whatnot. Apparently the Rockets will have a trio that ranks 19th next season, and it's not gonna be as good as Miami's trio. WTF? Anyways, maybe some stat guys here can help me figure out where he's getting all these conclusions etc etc. --------------------- http://dberri.wordpress.com/2008/08/05/pareto-prediction-and-the-top-trios-in-2007-08/
If this guy actually gets paid for this, then I am gonna throw myself off a cliff. If he or she makes $75,000+ for this, then I am gonna stab myself in back and then throw myself off cliff.
In terms of wins alone, Miami might not do that bad next year. The East is still relatively thin, and if Wade returns to his championship form as it looks like he has been in these Olympics, Miami could very well win 50+, making them the most improved team out of any. HOWEVA, that in no way means they'll be better than the Rockets. Or any team from the West with at most 10 wins less than them. That's just the way the league works now. I hope the East gets harder somewhat, with the accumulation of talent in Philly, Toronto, and Milwaukee making it seem like at least some teams are not slouching their way to 2010.
I understand that Miami might be improved because of Wade's recovery and Beasley being an NBA-ready scorer/banger. But there's just no way that Wade, Marion, and Beasley is a better trio than Mac, Yao, and Artest. Our trio is Neo to their Morpheus. Po to Tai Long. Bruce Lee to Jet Li. Batman to that random guy with the hockey pads. We're in a different league, my friend.
yeah... right. i`m sure that`s why morey`s got a legit NBA GM gig while this guy is at home in front of his computer like you and i.
In many cases, today's journalism is designed to be provocative. Stupidity seems to be a primary technique in achieving this goal.
If Morey's system was similiar, he would have offered Yao for Kaman. This system rates Camby, Kaman, and BDiddy better than Yao, Artest, and T-mac.
Interesting you bring this up. David will be on BizRadio 1110 AM next Thursday morning. You guys should definitely call in and ask him questions relating to this.
Nice work Einstein -- seeing as how we won 55 last year and this year have Yao Ming for an extra half-season and Ron Artest for a full season. Plus Brent Barry. Whoever wrote that article is a tool.
I don't know why you guys are getting all worked about this. It seems no one ranked Yao and T-Mac as one of the best duos. Every year this BBS is moaning about all the other big duos and how Yao and T-Mac are far down on the list, so what makes you think that Artest is going to elevate that. Just let the so-called experts rank whatever they want. We know that the Rox have something special going on...or they wouldn't have won 22 games in a row. They will show everyone this year!
