I think Taylor has more upside and would much rather him on our team than Wafer but who do you think is a better outside shooter and better fit with yao?
Taylor will have the better career as he will be lighting up the NBDL while Wafe will be surviving on 10 day contracts and back rubs by DD.
Better outside shooter? Is this a serious question? And we havent seen JT play with yao yet, and for that matter, we havent really seen him play that much at all. So I'd say Von, as his shooting ability gives a better option for a Yao kickout.
I think Wafer is not on the team because h is out of his rookie contract and simply not worth the money. Taylor will be cheap for a while. That is why I am pro Taylor but just curious what you guys think about it from a pure baseketball standpoint
taylor- lacks court awareness,iQ, and has an inconsistent jumper. wafer- lacks mental control, good athlete and can shoot.
From a pure basketball standpoint Wafer was expendable and deemed not good enough to throw serious money at. On offense he was a good outside shooter but tended to be a black hole and on D he lost his man a lot. Jermaine is a different type of player, more of a slasher. But mentally he is about on par as to where Von was early in his career in needing more maturity and learning his role better. Really nothing missing out from not keeping Von.
wafer by a longshot. seriously, anyone who watches basketball will know that wafer is the better player. only lacks maturity in attitude. he has way more potential than JT. seriously guys, stop being such homers. you all act like JT is the second coming of wade or something.
I definetly miss Wafer's energy off the bench, and he is a better shooter than Taylor. Athleticism is about equal between the two.
Wafer. He has such a sweet shot and brings great energy off the bench. Until we see JT play more, we can't really say who is better.
Wafer's a more consistent threat from 3-point range, and his explosiveness around the cup is comparable to JT. He was willing and capable in late-game situations (corner three-pointer to sink the Celtics at the the Garden, and the monster reverse dunk against the Blazers). He scored in double figures in 12 straight games, including victories over the Nuggets, Jazz, Celtics, and Pistons, and he dropped 23 in a close loss to the Lakers. At this point in their respective careers, JT's not fit to shine Von Wafer's Jordan's. This thread gets a "child, please."
This isn't even a question, Von wins this easily. He can play on the NBA level consistently, shoots way better, and is a perfect complement to Yao.
In the short time he played with us, Wafer quickly became my fav. rocket.... would love to see him in a rocket uni again
Wafer could've been special I think. But that's over now. But comparing the two. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. bout the same athletically. I would say Wafer was a little quicker but Taylor gets up a little higher. Taylor's more of a bull at getting to the rim. He bully's his way to the basket. Definitely stronger than Von. but Wafer has a better 3pt shot. each of them have their pros and cons but Taylor is our guy now and we are developing him. so it doesn't matter about the comparisons.
