In summary, Dwyane Wade and the #2 pick are rumored to be traded to the Bulls for a couple of players and the #1 pick. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune...ane-wade-chicago-bulls-trade,1,6735188.column
Conspiracy: So Stern not only wants to restore the '80s powerhouse Boston-LA rivalry, but also wants to throw in the '90 powerhouse Chicago to the mix.
Dude...Wade AND the #2 pick? WTF. Now if you're talking about Wade for the #1 pick and one of the Bulls' young studs, then that's a deal. Miami goes into full rebuild with the two best players in the draft plus a good Chicago player, and Chicago gets a bonafide superstar. Dumping Gordon in that scenario works for them well.
That's exactly what I was thinking...why do you give up Wade AND the 2nd pick??? Just give up the 2nd pick and maybe Marion or someone else.
If this has any substance to it at all then Wade must be damaged goods. I assume Chicago would figure that out and look him over real close before doing a deal involving him.
Without even reading it I'm sure that's just the Chicago media doing what they do best, making up trade rumors that seem to always benefit the Bulls. I mean come on, Wade AND the #2 in return for the #1 and some scrubs? Great, so the Bulls Get Wade and Beasley, yeah right Chicago Tribune, get over yourselves.
Wade is still a top five player. For the Bulls to walk away from draft day with Wade and Rose or Beasley I think that's a pretty solid day's worth of work. I don't see why Miami does it. Who are they getting in return besides the #1 pick?
It's hard to see these teams doing alot of wheeling and dealing because their both a year removed from the playoffs and don't need drastic improvement to get back where they were. The Bulls are pretty much one superstar away from Eastern Conference Finals. That's why I wouldn't be so reluctant to turn down a deal for someone like Melo, Elton Brand, or anyone else who can improve the team. Miami has the possiblity of coming into the season with backcourt of Wade and Rose with Marion and another unproven young talent and possibly another big free agent acqusition. Miami could be back near top of the conference if they play their cards right and even challenge the Celtics for the East.
2006-07 NBA Chicago Bulls* 49 33 .598 3 4.52 104.9 99.6 Lost Eastern Conference Semifinals (in 6 games) Skiles (49-33) 2007-08 NBA Chicago Bulls 33 49 .402 4 -3.19 103.9 107.2 Skiles (9-16), Myers (0-1) and Boylan (24-32) I figure they just had a down year. Consider this: 2007-08 NBA Atlanta Hawks* 37 45 .451 3 -2.23 106.9 108.9 Lost Eastern Conference First Round Woodson (37-45) -4 games off the Hawks, even though the Hawks made the playoffs. 2007-08 NBA Philadelphia 76ers* 40 42 .488 3 0.19 106.4 106.0 Lost Eastern Conference First Round Cheeks (40-42) -7 games off the Wizards. You don't believe quality superstar or high scoring player wouldn't push them up that many games. Also, consider this as far as young players go they have one of the more talented teams in the league.
Hard to say, you get a bonafide superstar in Wade. He's probably amonst top 3 SG in the league between Kobe, then Mac. He's better than Arenas, Johnson, and Iverson. C - Noah PF - Thomas SF - Deng SG - Wade PG - Hinrich Nocioni Duhon (fa) Sefolosha Hughes You possibly can put something together for Gordon. Let's be honest are Rose and Beasley going to be as good as D-Wade
If the Heat trades Wade, they might as well fold up their franchise and move their players to Orlando.
If you're referring to the Magic letting O'Neal go to the Lakers, they still had Penny. If you're referring to some other team besides the Magic, then do enlighten. Wade is a great talent but an even greater marketing machine. The Heat loses him--the guy that brought them their first championship--for less than a #1 and Luol Deng, then they have not only shot themselves in the foot, but also strapped a brick of C4 with the detonation button heavily pushed.
