If I'm Lebron James or Dwayne Wade, I'm agreeing on a common destination, even if it means sacrificing a few millions by leaving home. In a sport where legacy is unfortunately intrinsically tied to team success, I'm taking the guaranteed superstar sidekick rather than relying on my general manager's control of my destiny.
I think most people here would disagree and feel that pairing either of those two with a big man such as Bosh or Stoudemire would be preferrable to pairing them together just due to the superfluity in their skills. I don't feel that way at all. Either of them are so far and away better than Bosh/Stoudemire that I would take that nightmare advantage over an attempt at supposed team balance. And as a fan, of course I would love to see the two best players in the league, both as guards, playing together - that would be historic. The only real downside is that I think Wade is going to start breaking down pretty soon, now at 28.
I'd be great to have at least one of the two. Wishful thinking. Get'r done Morey??? Hey, somebody had to say it.
I wouldn't be surprised if Wade CONSIDERS coming here to Houston if Yao shows some progress and Morey builds the right team. Honestly speaking, I think this team be somewhat similar to the 2001 Philadelphia Sixers with Wade. Maybe even better if the ping pong balls go our way in the lottery.
IF he goes anywhere it will be to Chicago to play with D-Rose. That would probably become my favorite superstar pairing of all time outside of Olajuwon and Drexler. With the young talent they have, I think the Bulls could easily make a trade for an impactful big man to fill the void in the middle. Heck, Yao could be had in a year or two if he opts out

Miami are only offering a 3 year extension. I'd guess he's holding out for more years on the contract, ie more guaranteed money.
Those of you hoping he comes to Houston, if you were Dwayne Wade, would you: A) sign with your hometown Bulls to play alongside budding superstar phenom Derrick Rose B) convince Lebron James to join you in Miami C) conspire with James to team up with the Knicks (in the event they can clear some more room) D) sign with Houston to play with oft-injured center Yao Ming sorry folks, but one of those options is considerably less attractive than any of the other three.
