Let's see....Wade has yet to win a ring without being carried by Shaq.....but Kobe has....

    Obvious choice I guess?

    Right now?....I guess Wade.

I don't think Wade will ever reach Kobe status though.

...and if someone disagrees...I don't really give a **** and I'm not arguing with you for three pages about it.

And it's not even close. It's REALLY hard to win just one. Wade couldn't do it with the alleged best in the NBA and Bosh. Championships don't come easy

    Now? Wade.

At any point before this year? Kobe.

I agree, except I would have taken Wade last year as well.

kobe faced single coverage in the first and 2nd round of the playoffs this year, and couldn't even dominate. he's finally slipping out of top 5 status.

wade has been better than kobe for 2-3 years now.

    This is stupid.

How quickly you all forget how much Kobe dominated. Wade assassinates people. Kobe just outright smites them.

Prime vs Prime? Easily Kobe. And that's not even close to being a knock on Wade.

I think he scored 25 on Mavs, the so called best player in the league LeBron was only able to score 17.8. Plus Mavs never tried JJ on Kobe. He's OK.

The Laker/(Yankee) championships are extremely unimpressive in my opinion.

A Miami championship would be extremely unimpressive.

While Wade does have the most impressive ring of the bunch in 2006, it is far too soon to discount Kobe's awesome longevity. The media will give it to Kobe because he is on the beloved team, but in reality it has always been very, very close. Flip a quarter.

How many assists and rebounds did Kobe get?

How many games did his team win?

(Not saying I disagree, but your plot has major holes amigo. You could come up with a much better argument.)

They got swept. But replace LeBron with Kobe, Mavs would have no chance. I don't remember Kobe's Lakers choked away 15 points lead in last 5 minutes in playoff. Just saying.

Hypotheticals. Replace Kobe with Lebron, and they win 1 game. See how that works?

No use in reasoning in such a childish manner, whether I agree with the sentiment or not.

For one, the Lakers choked a 7 point lead with 5 minutes remaining in the playoffs this very year. For two, the Lakers choked a 5 point lead with 3 minutes remaining in the playoffs, this year as well. For three, the Lakers choked away a 24 point deficit in 2008, in game 4 of the Finals. Kobe shot 34% in his last 3 games of the Finals, effectively destroying any chance the Lakers had of making it a contest. He also shot 36% from the field against Detroit in the Finals, when he had a perfectly youthful Shaq to throw the ball down to.

Of course wade now. But a prime Kobe is head and shoulders above a prime wade. Superior passer, ball handler, vocal leader, passer, better post game, more consistent shooter. Wade is a great scorer, but when he hits his first two or the shots in a game, your first thought isn't "is tonight one of those nights where he drops 60?" In my opinion just as Kobe is "Jordan-lite", DWade is "Kobe-lite". And I'm not even a Kobe fan.

@knote and @goodbug, I'm not sure of the context of you guys debate but interchanging Kobe and LeBron? I'm certain the outcome would have been much different. I'm one of the biggest Kobe haters but he is as close to mj as it gets and he wouldn't have played hot potatoe with the ball in the 4th quarter. I mean it's obvious the Miami Heat organization needs to make a commitment to getting LeBron more help, or they may see him take his talents elsewhere also. ::sarcasm::

Right because rebounds and assists determine who wins...

Look at Lebron triple double numbers but pointless since he can't make momentum changing plays and winning plays to seal the deal.

To answer the question Kobe > Wade
