Forget LeHype. Forget Kobe. Let's talk about Wade. This guy is true class. Many times in the playoffs, players hack him, shove him, try to talk mess with him. What does he do? Nothing. Nada. He plays basketball. Number 3. Why did he choose it? Trinity. The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Very Christian guy. Used 10% of his NBA salary to tithes. Very humble, great game, no tattoos. This guy is the icon of the NBA. He should be the player all kids want to be. Reminds me of MJ... but doesn't talk mess. He is very unique... which other star acts like this?
Yeah d-wade is awesome. He's been my favorite player not on the Rockets since his soph. year. Didn't catch to much of him his rookie year.
yao ming for one. i certainly like him as a person better than either kobe or lebron but i wouldn't take him before them. he's just not as versatile though it's freaking close. throw t-mac in there too. anyways i'm a huge d-wade fan right now. he's the best chance we got to keep cuban from getting a ring.
I've been on the bandwagon since his mid/late rookie year. I'll say it one more time: We can put to rest the notion that Shaq helped "develop" Wade. He showed the potential for greatness his rookie year and last year he stepped into stardom. This year, he carried that team on his back, Shaq included.
What Francis could have been if he would had focused on his game. I remember when people including myself described Wade as Francis Lite.
What I most like about Wade is he ATTACKS THE BASKET. He ACCEPTS the contact. Too many guys just drift around the perimeter shooting jumpers. In this league, if you want to win a championship you have to get down and dirty and attack the basket and not be afraid of the contact.
Do we really have to bring Religion into sports? why not just celbrate sports for what they are. It is really silly to have this moronic stereotypes for who is a "good" person and who is not.
it's not about religion, it's about having a role-model. somebody who lives a "christian lifestyle" can often have all the right attributes to be a good role model.
i have more of a problem with the "no tattoos" comment than i do with the religion. tattoos are no way indicitive of a person's character. unfortunately, their first impressions are really a bad one.
I love this kid. I love his game. He is very classy, and very, very good. And he will get even better, IF he doesn't destroy his body by driving to the hoop. He plays with reckless abandon. I see some MJ in him. The new NBA stars are an exciting group.
I still think refs give him too many calls. Alot of clean blocks get called for fouls which annoy me to no end. Otherwise his game is pretty flawless besides the lapse of making good decisions.
Relax with the anti-religion knee jerk, will ya? The "tithe" is a religious term, and regardless of your personal beliefs, how can you not find it commendable that one would give so much of his money back to the less fortunate. Wade - humility and class, yet fierce and determined on the court. Yeah, definitely my favorite non-Rocket at this point.
Like I said, I've read in other articles such as ESPN talking about how Reggie Bush could be a good role-model mentioning he has no tattoos. ESPN even mentioned how Michael Jordan had no tattoos. Why did they mention it? I don't know, but there's a reason. Also, I didn't even know he had no tattoos. I read it in a magazine that had an article on Wade, Sports Illustrated I think. So why don't you guys bash them instead of me?
