Apparently, Dwayne didn't say anything resembling what was misconstrued? "AOL Fanhouse initially reported the guard saying: “If we lose a couple in a row this season, it will be like the World Trade (Center) is coming down again.” Hours later, AOL Fanhouse published a different version of the quote, citing a transcription error and an editor’s note saying, “we deeply regret the error.”
Apparently. But how would the "world crash down?" Doesn't make sense. If he said the world was ending, that would make more sense. Won't somebody think of the children?
naw, here's the video. <object width="384" height="216" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" id="ESPN_VIDEO" data="http://espn.go.com/videohub/player/embed.swf" allowScriptAccess="always" allowNetworking="all"><param name="movie" value="http://espn.go.com/videohub/player/embed.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"/><param name="wmode" value="opaque"/><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"/><param name="allowNetworking" value="all"/><param name="flashVars" value="id=5392799"/></object> He did say World Trade.
i think from his apology, i get that he was saying if the heat loses a few in a row, ppl would make a big huge deal of it, which they shouldnt cos its just basketball and not the world trade crashing down.
He meant to say that people will overreact to them losing, and make it a big deal, like when the WTC came crashing down... but in the initial report it sounded like he was saying it was ok for them to feel that way/
