for those that saw the game tonight... he seemed much, MUCH under control. looks like jvg layed the smack down on his candy arse. seriously... he seemed to want to go one on one in the first two, but he became a team player all of a sudden in this one. the dude seems to be a quick learner. seems to be a sura/marko jaric player. not bad. jvg type player as far as discipline (sp?) is concerned. player of the game without a doubt. not a ginobili (sp? we could only be so lucky). above avg pg at best, but his potential is off the charts. the contrast between preseason games one/two and then three... well... he didn't do much to stand out, but he didn't do much to stand out negatively either. underrated. one word to describe his future in the nba? i'd say "solid".
I agree, and did you see the way he was whistling at his teamates and making them move around on offense? I loved it, he was the reason the team came back and won...he set the table, all Novak had to do was eat. DD
yeah he seemed alot more comfortable tonight, his passes were sooooo nice you can see hes been working on the range, 1 foot in from the 3pt line so hes working his way out there. hopefully he continues his development and becomes a major contributor
HEY!!! get your wording right. it's "fromthemtable"... or something like that. i need to go to sleep.
Yeah I agree, probably closer to Marko Jaric than Ginobili. If he becomes as good as Sura, I'd be pretty happy
You know I was ready to kick Hollinger for what he said about V-span taking over the starting role at the end of this season. But after this game, it seems somewhat possible..He sure looked better than Alston this game.
He is already better than Jaric, that guy is simply average...V-span's vision and hustle are already miles better than Jaric. DD
He has skills that sura doesn't...I think he can be better especially at distibuting. He's certainly much faster.
Oh, he was fomfatable...VERY fomfatable. (that's for you madmax) I want to see him against real NBA talent and not second and third stringers. My guess is that he will see some time just on hustle alone, but he's got a ways to go to get his game under control. I like his hustle and he has sensational court vision. But, he has an ugly ass shot that will have to improve and he needs to reign it in. I doubt he'll see a lot of time early in the season, but he could work his way into the lineup if he plays well. He strikes me as a gamer.
Much better this game. He still need to cut down TO's. Am I the only one who thinks Vspan some times runs like a girl?
Those of you who trashed V-Span after the first two games should realize you were too quick to write him off. On the other hand, just because he played well today against the Mavs 2nd and 3rd stringers doesn't mean he's ready to be in the regular rotation yet. These games don't count. He's barely been scouted yet. Once "the book" on him is passed around the league and defenses adjust accordingly, the real test begins.
Yeah I loved the way he seemed to take charge of the team. The kid is a natural born leader who loves the game. You can't teach that. It's no coincidence he has won at every level and won over his teammates and coaches as well.
thats tru but, he did not make the mistakes that he did in last game I wrote about him so much the past 3 months and I repeated myself over and over guy is smart, learns fast and does not like to loose a born winner
