I can't believe Kobe has such a big lead over Paul. Wow... And this is the 2nd season in which McGrady is being considered for MVP when he isn't even the best player on the team. Ya ya, injuries, okay...
I'm glad that the media isn't going to give it to the guy with the best stats (L. James) but rather a mix of the best player on one of the best teams. Kobe and the Lakers, considering that everyone thought he and that team would implode, are just as big a shock record wise as NO. Well almost. Paul is amazing, and will only get better, but I think this is Kobe's year. Tmac has been good too, but if Yao never went out, it would be Yao on that list even if Tmac was still putting up the same numbers if not better.
tracy was our best player last yr. he did more for the team than yao. yao has been our best (more consistent) player this yr. but tmac is still our most indispensable player. if this team can survive losing one of the two, it's yao.
LeBron is the one getting screwed. Lets see more points, rebounds, assists, and double the blocks per game. Plus he is shooting a better percentage from the field. I mean come on LeBron is averaging 30-8-7. Jordan only had one year with a 30-7-7 average (32.5-8-8). Kobe's team has the better record but give LeBron Gasol, Bynum, or even Odom and the Cavs would have the better record.
This is true. We can win without Yao (we aren't even close to being better without him so don't think I'm saying that) we can't without T-Mac.
It is fair to say, we can win without either Yao or Tmac in regular season (this season' games have proved it), but we don't know whether we can win without either Yao or Tmac in playoffs.

his #s are not MVP worthy (despite nash's so-so #s of 14 and 11 in his first yr winning it) paul or kobe should win it (depending on which team has the better record). but tmac will most likely in top 5-6 in voting, making it his 6th time doing this, which is pretty amazing considering a guy who hasn't gotten out of the first round.
It's interesting to see the Poll result from the different states which the candidates come from: California Massachusetts Ohio Texas LouisianaKobe Bryant 78% 15% 20% 34% 8% Kevin Garnett 5% 70% 6% 7% 1% LeBron James 6% 5% 60% 10% 1% Tracy McGrady 2% 2% 3% 22% 3% Chris Paul 9% 8% 11% 26% 87%
If the Lakers finish one game above the Hornets or visa versa that should definately not be the determining factor on who is the MVP. That is the wrong reason to reward it. And it's not really all that impressive T-Mac has done that without ever getting out the first round because the MVP has nothing to do with the playoffs.
Yep, all those years when Jordan didn't put up those kind of numbers he was still way better than Lebron. Those stats are impressive but Paul, Kobe, and maybe even Garnett are better players to me.
Oh no doubt MJ was better. He put up 30-6-6 practically every year but stiol LeBron beats Kobe in every statistic except 3pt% and FT%.
These polls aren't about who deserves it, its about team spirit, reppin your player, your team, your city... Ill vote for Mike Harris if he is on the list over anyone else.
