I heard about it on the news, so I checked out their website, and....

    I did it.

I've been leaning toward Nader for the past 3-4 weeks. I just felt I couldn't bring myself to vote for Gore as the lesser of two evils. So when I heard about Vote Swap, I checked it out. Since Texas is a foregone conclusion for Dubya, I decided to give it a shot. I'm voting for Nader, and a gentleman from Illinois who I just got off the phone with will be voting for Gore.

Flame me if you like...I felt that since it looked like I was going to be voting for Nader anyway I might as well go ahead and do this. The gentleman from Illinois was nice and we had a good conversation. So, I'm going to do it.

No flame here, Tex. I swapped my vote with a gentleman from Washington state. He'll vote Gore for me, I'll vote Nader for him. Sounds like a fair trade.

I most likely would have voted for Nader anyway, but this adds just a little extra anti-Bush sentiment, which is fine with me.

We got in just under the wire though, as I received an e-mail from the site today letting me know they were shutting down due to possible legal complications.

    Thanks Rocketman,

Seems this won't do anything for me as I am in New York.

    What a great idea though.

A Gore supporter in a state that Bush has already won promises a Nader supporter in a battleground state that he will vote Nader if the guy in the battleground state will vote for Gore. That way Nader gets a vote toward his 5% and Gore gets a vote in a battleground state. In my case, I was planning on voting for Nader anyway. I just wanted to make it count a little more than it would without a swap, that's all.
