Hey. I love Roy O as much as anyone, but.......

Chris Young deserves this spot big time. He should be on the team wtihout question, maybe even starting the game. Pretty much been dominant all year long. How he slipped to the fan voting is beyond me.

f#$k that. i know this is an 07 all-star game and oswalt is having a sub-par year(for him), but, he's been a second-half pitcher it seems for most of his career and missed quite a few deserving all-star games because of it.

this would be only his third selection i think. he's been one of the 4 or 5 most dominant pitchers in baseball for about 6 years. he deserves it.

Although Carlos Lee was selected as the Astros' lone representative for the 78th annual MLB All-Star game, Houstonians can change that. Roy Oswalt was selected as one of five National League players vying for the final spot.
    Vote Oswalt!

For the season, Oswalt is 7-5 with a 3.42 ERA. His season has had its ups and downs with the Astros defense and bullpen blowing more than its share of games. On Tuesday, Roy pitched seven solid innings allowing only one run, but the Houston offense was stagnant until Oswalt was relieved. The offense then decided to exploded with seven runs in the final four innings giving Brain Moehler the extra inning win on Biggio's historic night.

For his career, Oswalt is a two-time All-Star with a 105-52 record, best in the NL since 2001. He was a back-to-back 20 game winner in '04 and '05 and helped propel the Astros to their first ever World Series in 2005 while garnering NLCS MVP. Astros fans have until Thursday, July 5 to help vote Roy Oswalt to his third All-Star game.

Vote for Roy Oswalt at astros.com or mlb.com.

Sorry guys, I voted for Brandon Webb. Just as good a pitcher and I'd rather Oswalt rest his arm. DBacks deserver another player.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that ONE WHOLE INNING he'd pitch would completely wear him out for the rest of the season.

    Stupid excuse.

If I were to vote another, Young would be much more deserving than Webb...who got lit up again tonight.

I still fail to understand this argument. How many games out of first place are we again? Let alone getting back to .500? Is it really of ANY importance that Oswalt rest his arm in a season which has a VERY steep uphill battle in the second half? Who cares, seriously?

well not only that but i would be shocked if him pitching an inning would have any effect at all on his arm.

How can any Astros fan have not voted for Roy O?? The guy never gets love from the media and is almost never recognized by the media as one of the best in the NL and MLB, he at LEAST deserves support from Houston.

This year, the vote should easily and unquestionably be Chris Young. How he wasn't auto-selected, I have no idea. The guy's numbers are absurd.

    8-3
2.14 ERA (#3 in the NL)
1.09 WHIP (#3 in the NL)
    90 strikeouts in 96 innings

He's right there with Peavy and Penny for the Cy-Young.

You are right, he should have been auto-selected. But since he wasn't, I'm going Roy O. I suppose there are just different mindsets on how to use the Final Vote. Personally, I'd vote in a player who deserves to be there from my favorite team, but I suppose I can understand if others want to vote in a guy purely based on performance, regardless of team. To each his own.
