Perhaps a nice Rodney King type beating would have been more warrented.

I'm starting to not like them either...

    ;~)

It's not genocide. And it's not genocide which is the intention of the Chinese government in Tibet. It's cultural assimilation and it's wrong.

    Cheers,
    Brock

    Well man, I don't know.

I would say, and I'm sure you would agree, that you are fairly inciteful in your remarks... as in inciting a riot.

It's like ying yang in the Chinese threads. The only beef I have is with some Chinese posters is their denial of their government's actions and apparent lack of a sense of humor. And, of course, the defense of "our government isn't as repressive and evil as yours!". Great defense. Alright, so your government is possibly less evil and repressive against others in the world. Which is more evil and repressive of its own citizens and what does one government's actions have to do with anothers?

You catch more flies with honey they say. They don't say exactly why you would want to catch flies...

I like you New Yorker... Just try not to screw up our international relations any more than they are already.

    Cheers,
    Brock

I guess it takes lots of courage to take on the evil Chinese bully on a message board. If I may guess again, that you don't have the guts to say similar racial or "political incorrect" things to any other ethnical group, like Jewish people or African Americans.

It's just hilarious how someone jumps up and down whining, complaining, and accusing many things about China and Chinese people, simply dismisses any input from any ethnical Chinese, to server your super ego. Not only that, "Chinese poster" becomes a new label to discredit anything about China, from the righteous New Yorker. Just Wow!

It's funny you mention that, A friend of mine and I started a riot at a peace rally against the war in Iraq back in Feb 2003. They wouldn't let us through so we got people to start shouting "Let us through" over and over...and it was just like 10 people at first, and then it was 100, 300, and before we knew there were police on horses and everyone - including us were a little nervous. Of course, the crowd pushed through the barricade, people were injured, heads were bloodies, mace was sprayed....and eventually the police let us through to disperse the crowd. So I guess I have a tendency to cause trouble...

As for the Chinese posters - they are quite entertaining aren't they? I love getting their goat - I admit it. It's too much fun. It's almost too easy. But hey - let's be serious, I am also making a real point about exposing their thinking and the level of brainwashing they have suffered. It is my sincere hope that all of this will crack open their minds a little bit and open them to other perspectives.

Not really disagreeing, but I've read opinions that the forced cultural assimilation the British tried to impose upon the Irish over 4-5 centuries as cultural genocide. This is in light of the Brits destroying homes and literature, imposing "better customs", and colonizing the Irish's land.

What we are seeing is a classic example of American "debate." When you can't beat somebody with logic, try to insinuate them as brainwashed drones.

It's funny how you Americans always seem to be hurling accusations and allegations yet when the time arise to provide evidence to such, your records are... um, quite pitiful.

Want to prove that as a false statement? You can start by saying "China is committing genocide/cultural assimilation/whatever because..."

And let's not waste my time with your pathetic googled articles from AI and HRW, or better yet, Epoch Times or some pro-Tibetan independence group shall we?

It's not about comparing which government is more repressive, China's or USA's, it's about using the same criteria of judgement on China as well as the USA. It's about consistency, which apparently some American posters including you are reluctant to face. Applying your criteria of judgement on China's actions in the Tibetan province results in your sentence of cultural genocide, yet when you apply the same criteria of judgement on USA's actions in Iraq will yield the same sentence of cultural genocide, only at more severe degrees.

Can you acknowledge the importance of consistency in criteria or treat it with no regard?

You know, you guys are using the words like moron and mentally handicapped and saying we americans hate chinese and that american media is b.s. and blah blah blah.

All we are saying is how shocked we are with the situation there. It's really sad. And we call it genocide. But instead of disagreeing respectfully and saying you can appreciate our perspective, you are all getting up in arms.

Maybe y'all should stop attacking us and just look at the subject at hand....why so defensive?

When our country gets attacked by yall we don't cry and get defensive and start calling names...in fact we criticize ourselves more then you do.

So take a page from us...and debate and think about what we are saying instead of calling us liars and all that. See the truth in what we write - because there is truth in it.

We don't insult you by saying "Chinese can't debate" - so why do you do that to us?

But your perspective is very strange - so closed to even considering what is happening is genocide. Why not be open to examining it? Not for us - but for yourselves....

sure, if you can acknowledge the topic is about Tibet and face the reality of the Chinese government's actions there. I have no problem talking about my government's actions. Start a thread and I'll participate. In the meantime keep dodging the reality by trying to sling mud. And I'm getting tired of Chinese posters misquoting me. I believe the term I used was cultural assimilation.

And no, it isn't the same in Iraq. We aren't trying to replace all the leaders in the mosques. We aren't trying to replace the culture in Iraq. We are trying to replace the government. That is where the parrellel ends in regards to Tibet.

    Regards,
    Brock
