I'm ready for a new sig, but I can't decide. So I'm going to let the denizens of cf.net vote since you're going to be the ones that will be looking at the darn thing. 1. Two timing the lady means two times the ladies. But on the other hand that's twice the demands. It's just a little ditty that I came up with. I was trying to come up with a good rule of thumb, written in a clever way. Did I succeed? Well I'll let you be the judge of that. 2. All men are created an ego, but some men have more ego than others. This is a riff on the famous line from "Animal Farm", (all animals are created equal, but some animals are more equal than others.) It's one of my favorite books, and I've always liked this line. 3. Seek and learn to recognize who and what, in the midst of the inferno, are not inferno, then make them endure, give them space. I heard this quote from Italian writer Italo Calvino a couple of years ago, and it's stuck with me. To be honest I'm not really sure what this quote means (shoot me a reply if you can explain it), but I absolutely love the wording and composition of the line. It has an interesting, non-standard, format that you sometimes find in translated quotes. And anyway it's just a cool sounding line.
I love Calvino. Kinda like Frankie goes to Hollywood: " Relax, don't do it, when you wanna get to it, relax don't do it, when you wanna come." or not!
I'd understand Calvino to be saying find those people who are not part of the problem and do what you can to nurture their existence, presumably so that their influence can grow and reduce the problem.
I, personally, have always liked your current sig. I like it better than the three you mentioned, also. Stick with it. Ask RMTex. He's had the same sig for three years, now.
Is there even such a thing as an obscure Simpsons reference? It seems like there are plenty of people on this board that have memorized every single Simpsons and Seinfeld episode.
Hmm. Maybe I should have had an option for keeping my current sig. Not that I'd strictly base my decision on the whim of the board, since I am getting kind of tired of it. But it would have been nice to see what percentage of the board actually likes my current one, and maybe would have been factored into my decision.
