Von Wafer just signed a one year contract with Boston. Can anyone give their opinion on him? I've never seen him play.

    Thanks.

That's exactly why he should be on a contender's team other than OURS.

Gant is a Boston fan, so I see how this thread was created.

He let Sasha Vuatampon get into his head in the playoffs. Might be weak in the head.

On the court, he was pretty good. He hit a huge shot vs Boston.

    Don't remember?

    I did.

solid player to bring energy off the bench. good 3 pt shot, athletic to the rim. passing/play-making needs work though. Search him on youtube, you'll find some good highlight videos.

    Thanks for the replies.

Yeah, I'm a Boston fan. Sounds like Wafer could contribute if any playing time opens up.

The Celtics seem to have enough guards now but still could use a quality back up small forward, and even more-so another healthy big man. (They only have KG, Baby, and Jermaine O'Neal right now, with raw Turkish center Semih Erden on the bench. Perkins is out for a long time.)

Maybe the rumored Portland trade will go through and they'll pick up Rudy and Pryzbilla.

Best of luck to the Rockets! I like the moves Houston has made including drafting Patterson, and really hope Yao comes back completely healthy.

Wafer is a very talented scorer off the bench, but part of the reason he hasn't made it in the NBA is his attitude. I don't think he's a cancer, but I think he's prone to throwing fits and/or just not following direction.

He was sent to the locker room by Adelman during one of the Rockets/Lakers playoff games two years ago. But during the season, he was huge for us particularly once Mcgrady announced his own micro fracture surgery.

He's like LeBron James, you take out the passing skills, and add in Tmac's I'm-A-basketball-god attitude.

He is a nice player to have off the bench, he outplayed Sasha over the course of that series, but some people remember the one game in which he got pissed off at him.

Von is a tempermental player, very emotional, which can be good and bad, with solid leadership like Boston has, he should thrive.

You guys will like him a lot.

Wish he were still a Rocket, he is better than Jermaine Taylor by a lot.

He is capable of putting any player on a poster and also is capable of hitting big shots.

I'm hoping he'll get into a fight with KG. I'm confident he can take KG down.

Gotta agree Von is a good pickup for the Celtics. He's tempermental and burned his bridge with Adelman, but he had the skills to stick around. I think he'd be a good guy to have come off the bench in Boston.
