Bima, I agree with a lot of what you say, but wafer had good production last yr and great in spurts. He's 23 and u can see him getting better. JR Smith had some of the same issues not too long ago and no team offered him a contract. I bet a lot of teams wish they wouldve offered him mle money. I think von is in that mold. Von was one of the rockets best offensive players last yr and to lose him and think taylor or chase can do what he can do is a mistake.

I absolutely agree with moe. There is a reason Von has bounced around to so many teams in his short NBA career.

The funny thing is how people are b****ing about how Artest disrupts teams and are glad he is gone, but some of these same people want to keep a guy that had to be sent to the locker room in the middle of a playoff game by his own coach.

Von's greatest advantage over Gerald Green is that he's decisive with the ball, sometimes it results in bad shots or bad drives, but at least he does something with the ball. Gerald can't make up his mind on what he wants to do.

He should have went to the Knicks if he wanted to run. The suns don't play that run and gun type of offense anymore. Well idk maybe that was just a one year thing when they went to half court offense because of shaq. Now that he is gone maybe they'll go back to the old offense.

define a "very good" nba player. scoring doesn't just make a player "very good". that is the ONLY thing wafer has displayed.

I am sorry DD, I know he was your boy and all but I disagree about the Lakers series...He did not nothing in game 1 as you pointed out but Game 2 he had the blowup when we most needed him and I cant get over that. Game 5 and 7 he did nothing of significance...Il give you game 3,4 and 6 but honestly I dont remember either way so thats not a good sign either...

Wilcox, if we can pick him up would be a welcomed addition and pointed out that this team was going for a vetern presence as Insurance in case the young guys had issues...I am almost sure this aint the last guy we pickup cheap.

Once Von got embarrassed by this guy [IMG] you knew his days were numbered.

    This from wikepedia:

On April 4, 2006, Wilcox recorded a career-high 24 rebounds in a win over the Houston Rockets. Wilcox's rebound total was the most by a Sonic player since Jack Sikma grabbed 25 at Utah on February 10, 1983.[4]

Actually the started going back to up tempo after they fired Porter. They brought back Alvin Gentry and they started playing good when he came in but then Amare got hurt.

If I could give Rep, you would be getting it. Excellent post, Moe. My sentiments exactly.

yeah but the bottom line is that he does not get rebounds which is surprising for a guy of his athletic talents.

there were times when i would see that too and get really excited but like you said it didn't last.

What exactly are the Suns doing? They dump Shaq on Cleveland but do not use Ben Wallace's contract to acquire Chandler. But they do improve their team by retaining Hill, signing Frye and Wafer. They are moving laterally with an aging roster. It seems like they're going to make the playoffs next year, but that's just because the Rockets opened up a spot. People keep saying they're trying to convince Nash to stay, is it really that important to keep an old declining star happy?

lol it is amazing how everyone has become a cancer on this team especially when someone is traded or leaves the team. Wafer had the run in with the coach but I don't think he was a cancer with his teammates.

Maybe this deserves a new thread, but wasn't the league changing the rules regarding traveling and palming etc for next season?
(due to the current/modern style of play)

The term "Basketball IQ" has been bastardized so much that it is thrown around and applied to any player who seems to lack a certain natural skill set, but is good at fundamentals.

If Wafer had a maturity above the 5th grade level, I'm sure we would have loved to have him back on this team.

As it stood, he threw temper tantrums about playing time and challenged authority.

There is no place for that on a basketball team with aspirations of winning games.
