Roster spots are earned not given. He needs to grow a pair.

He seems motivated to continue playing hard and climbing up the depth chart even though he will get a decent contract this summer. I would love to keep him at a reasonable price.

Haha, I understand Von's response, but from a business standpoint Morey did the right thing as well.

Either Von mans up and uses this to motivate him to get better or lets it destroy his focus.

If it's the former I hope we resign him, maybe by Morey showing Von's tweet to other GMs around the league to drive down his price. If not, we could use his help, but we don't need him.

I agree that has to be fake, wouldn't the Rockets have him as a follower like Ron Artest is. It's sad that someone is so bored that they have to make fake twitter accounts using celebrities, and I think Von is smart enough, that if he is upset about the situation, he would keep it to himself and not address it publicly.

I'd say he already earned one last season. His feelings are understandable, how would you feel if you went to work one day the month before you asked for a raise and your boss gleefully introduced you to two "interns" who will basically do the same thing as you?

Of course purely as a fan nothing would make me happier than to sign Von to a minimum deal for the next 10 years, but at the same time I think people need to get off their high horses here. These players are just like you and me, trying to their money to feed their family...

Even if it isn't him, this is a NATURAL response.

In fact when teams usually do this, they inform the current player "Hey, your spot is safe on this team. This just insurance...at the same time if they prove they are better, they will earn their minutes."

Von will know if they really want him when negotiations start.

That could have been posted by a 7 Year Old and no one here would know the difference.

I'm about to close this thread because I have no idea if this is Von's site or not. Do the Rockets have a list of valid player Twitter id's? I saw that the Suns had one.
